8" x 7" - dinnerware and glass

What do you think, finished or not?

Playing with plates..... :)

The salt and pepper shakers and gravy boat from our "company" dinnerware. They are so beautiful that most of the time they live in the display cabinet in our kitchen.

121 Pictures in 2021: #15 China/Pottery

Taken for Saturday Self Challenge 25/01/2020 - Photographing Dishes and Dinnerware

A couple of my mugs not surprisingly photography orientated and for good measure the P&S camera doing a balancing act on them . To finish off the shot I put it through Serif Craft Artist to frame it on an old roll of film !

for sight and sound another difficult one , this time I do not think there are many rock tracks about a mug of coffee and I wanted to avoid Def Leppard's " Photograph " having used that before . So as this is a photograph of something in my house I reckon I can get away with a real Purple classic with Jon Lord giving it some wellie on the keyboards - Pictures of Home ---

Saturday Self-Challenge: Dishes and Dinnerware

A casserole pot from my Blue Willow china collection. This week's challenge was easy but technically difficult. Lighting was the most troublesome, but that is because I am not proficient with artificial lighting. I had to wind up processing my image more than usual to achieve the look I was after.

Have a wonderful week ahead, my friends!

Lost in the Woods (Close to Home Series No.12)

~ 6" x 6" - pine bark, twigs, lichen, dinnerware, & hand-pulled malmischiato filati

This is a subset of our restaurant china collection (plus 2 more, not pictured). I really like vintage restaurantware with log letters and/or a log motif.

Fred's Hickory Barbecue was a chain of restaurants in the Dallas, TX, area in the 1950's.

I've eaten at the Old Hickory House (started in 1955 with one remaining location still in business in the Atlanta area), but I don't know anything about the other two restaurants.

Shell Pink Harkerware cups.

Made in the 1950s. Coffee just seems to taste better in them for some odd reason.

The bowl is Syracuse China in the "Driftwood" pattern (1962?) - Hard to find this pattern. Industrial designer Peter Piening designed the logo for Syracuse on this piece.

The low bowls under it are Stetson China.

ODC - Pieces

A few of the pieces of dinnerware I inherited from my late mother-in-law.

2,5" x 4" - stained glass, millefiori, dinnerware & beads

6" x 6" - fused glass, dinnerware, smalti & slate

Which direction do you find most pleasing?

The same people that I got the vintage toys from two weeks ago ran their sale again. They had this food priced at ten dollars, I offered them three and it was mine. There is an almost complete set of Fisher Price Family Dinnerware, 1987-1989. The 35-year-old woman that these used to belong to said she played restaurant with these dishes and food. And the clever menus she had made as a child were also in the box.

When Goodwill calls to me I've learned to listen, and this morning I heard the call, so I went. This vintage Univeral China dinnerware in the Ballerina pattern was waiting for me, and as anyone who's checked out my thrift finds set already knows, I have a "thing" for dinnerware, so I didn't really need it--as in needing something to put food on--but I did "need" it, in that way that we dish addicts need more dishes. sigh

Oh, and, I got 60+ pieces for less than $10. No way I could resist a bargain like that!
