I'm lovin' having this little guy visiting my backyard. At my previous house, the red squirrels were king of the castle and I never once had a chipmunk come to visit.
He is so tame too, he toddles over and looks at me when I'm reading on the deck. I think if I were to start putting seed in my hand he might very well come right to me.

Day 125 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

Day #10 post surgery. Progressing and still weak, but
preparing a healthy and delicious meal is something I really enjoy doing and I finally had enough energy to fix tonight's dinner.
Plated above is seared Ahi Tuna, marinated in fresh lemon juice, Jalapeño Olive Oil and Cayenne Pepper, with a side of microwave potato and a garden salad. Start to served : 30 minutes.
I bought the ingredients for this dinner with a free gift card from a grocery store, so it tasted especially good. The reason for the gift card? Got a tasty salad from the store that came with caterpillars (not kidding). I skipped the salad aisle today.
Last minute 48 hour trip taking in a few new spots and some old locations. 17 hour days and mixed weather added to the fun.

In het paasweekend was de Dinner Train weer te zien in het Groene Hart. TCS 102001 (ex-NS 1835) rijdt bij het sportpark Cromwijck in Woerden met een kalm gangetje in de richting van Bodegraven en de eindbestemming Haarlem.
As a fishing machine, this Osprey decides to do dinner out. Dinner consists of, you guessed it... fish!

Macro Mondays: "Trash"
The trash from dinner tonight. A steak tray, fresh vegetable, and yogurt for dessert.

Dinner with Heidi was shot on the water with Nikon d750 mounted on tripod under the patio Umbrella. The table was set up on a large rock just below the surface. Chicken, potatoes dinner was made and eaten on the water. One of my best dinners ever.
An impulsive shot - just happened to have the camera to hand and thought the lighting, unusually dim from just a single low-powered sidelight, was interesting.
Grey Heron Ardea cinerea
The Grey Heron is a long-legged predatory wading bird of the heron family, Ardeidae, native throughout temperate Europe and Asia and also parts of Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but some populations from the more northern parts migrate southwards in autumn. A bird of wetland areas, it can be seen around lakes, rivers, ponds, marshes and on the sea coast. It feeds mostly on aquatic creatures which it catches after standing stationary beside or in the water or stalking its prey through the shallows.
