Many of the lodges in Tanzanis are such a treat. You are hot and sweaty and very dusty from game drives. You are really looking forward to a place to unwind and relax. This is a newly build lodge close to Lake Manyara. We stayed here at the end of the safari and it was great fun to explore the grounds, the club house and the beautiful gardens.

They have solar energy, their own vegetable garden and views to die for. Best yet, I book it and received an introductory room rate. Camping would be great , but at my age I love the creature comforts.

The Ikea tree was originally on my dresser in the bedroom, but since the man of the house brought home 6 (!) of these cute porcelain Schoenwald milk jugs - bought for his office, it has come down, on our dining table, to host a few of them. I thought it's fun to play with them a little.

She's unaware of him being late. The story and her coffee are what's taking her time.

This week we could photograph anything but it had to include full or part of an object of your choice in each shot.

My choice was a hat. Some photos you can only see part of it, a couple the hat is quite blurred and others it is hard to find, but the same hat is in all of them.

My brother Doug and nephew Grant and I visited Auburn, Indiana on September 1, 2018 for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival. We had lunch with our friend Roger and his wife Margie at the very charming Cranberry Cottage in downtown Auburn. This cozy dining table is around the corner from where we dined.

Argent on my chair at our dining table. She knows if she sits there, she'll get attention... (I used in-camera HDR processing, which makes things look a little dirtier and ratier than they normally look in real life.) Apparently Argent is trying to figure out how to open my laptop.

Rufford Abbey was founded as a Cistercian foundation in 1147. It was dissolved by king Henry VIII in 1536 and the estate given to George Talbot 4th Earl Shrewsbury. Later converted to a country house 1560-90. Later large parts were demolished in 1956. It is a grade 1 listed building and an Ancient Monument. View is of the part of the Abbey that remained as a country house from C16.

Terrific lunch prepared by our sister university in China for a group of visiting faculty.

Xanthomelas Gem Juno, the sister to Pebbles and also, hopefully, a future breeding queen.

Mmm, love those Norman Cherner chairs. And I'm betting that table is a Matthew Hilton Cross Extension Table: www.dwr.com/product/cross-extension-table-new.do?sortby=o...

Dinner - Shot during our last Xmas holidays at one of the heritage hotels - Hotel de l’Orient in Pondicherry.

The hotel has a lovely open-air central courtyard, which is where they have set up this restaurant. The place has got a lovely romantic setting for dinner, and above all, some wonderful french food!

(with apologies to kevin smith.)

In Julie Anne Quay's Manhattan kitchen, designer Richard Mishaan used a narrow green border as a design motif -- see how it bleeds from the walls to the curtains? He paired a Saarinen Tulip table with Philippe Starck Ero/S/ chairs for Kartell. The curtains and window seat feature a Donghia awning stripe (‘Kauai’ Sunbrella), and the ‘Pudding’ pendant light is by FontanaArte.
