Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day ... [Time - Pink Floyd]

for portfolio purposes

Digital painting of photo from the archive

This is for my first Full Sail Online assignment. I was given the instructions of creating a vision of what I believe I would be considered. I am a Digital Native. I grew up around computers, video games, TV, and all electronics in general. I seem to quickly learn new concepts about electronics everyday so I decided to call myself a "wizard"

For those acquainted with Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the brick and wrought iron wall separating the parliament buildings from the city streets (or as some would say, separating the Crown from the town) is approximately 600 m (2000 ft) in length and an built in the Gothic Revival style like the parliamentary buildings on the Hill. Known as the Wellington Wall, it was designed by Frederick Alexander and built from 1872 to 1875. Unfortunately I couldn't find much more information about it in my research. A central gate found in the Wall in front of the Centennial Flame is called the Queen's Gate but there are several other gates along the Wall which do not appear to have been given names despite their distinct beauty. This iimage is of the gate at the corner of Wellington and Bank Streets. I began by sketching it in pen and ink, and then scanned it and coloured it on my iPadPro.

Taken the same day that I shot 10 by 10. Access is via 4x4 up the dry-wash seen snaking in the center of the scene. I took a couple dozen digital test photos on this leg of the journey, and this is the only one I liked. I'm waiting for snow to accumulate on the mountains before returning.

Behind me is a 200 foot waterfall - dry this day. Something to investigate another time.

On a previous trip, I saw a mountain lion as I came around a bend in the dry-wash.

This one was fun and man I enjoyed seeing all the Black-tailed photos. Thank you to everyone who let me use your photos for reference. It helps tremendously to have multiple angles when drawing and painting.
