A blustery day in Southeast Alaska. Time to settle in with a good book, and listen to the rain as it taps at the window panes.

It wasn't just the old lady who lived in a shoe. There was also a middle aged photographer. (Be nice - I like to consider 42 middle aged).

Vivid Sydney is coming up!

Hart to believe a year has gone and time to post one more from last year's display.

We are going in about two weeks time, this time with the D 800, hopefully that means better photos.

Can't wait to see what they got on this year.

More info about it here: www.vividsydney.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwvuuqBRDG95yR6tmfg9oBEi...

Till then, I hope you enjoy this one.

As always! Thanks for looking

Another conflict between nature and man.

Yesterday's posted late due to a bonfire and beer.

No matter how cold or blustery it is outside - Doc. Doolittle must feed the birds. This year two dozen wild spruce hens have discovered the birdseed, and now flock around Doc. when he fills the feeders. Disgruntled Magpies try to chase them away, but to no avail, oh well . . . as Doc is fond of saying; "Everything has to eat."

Something very different this time, I always wanted to try this sort of thing.

When I looked through my surfing shots, this one was the perfect series to give it a go.

Hope you like it, constructive criticism is more than welcome.

It wouldn't be autumn if I didn't have some Indian corn in my home. Many years ago my hubby and I grew it on our farm. The kid's and I had the best time pulling back the husks and discovering the rich colors that lay beneath each ear. Just another wonderful memory I have tucked away in my heart and mind.

Last week we were basking in eighty degree temperature's. This week we have been struggling to reach the high fifties during the day, and have been down to forty degrees at night. With that in mind - my rhubarb bed has produced some beautifully colored leaves - alerting us to the fact that it is time to get it ready for its long winters nap. There are stalks to pull, and spruce bows to gather, to tuck it in properly. Doc will squeeze that job in between his log splitting and wood stacking. Hopefully next autumn I will be back to my full strength, and able to give Doc some real help getting ready for winter.
