On Thursday July 12 there was low cloud that resulted in a diffusion of the light from the sun so the crisp circular ball was not really evident. This image is about 5 minutes before sundown as the sun drifts northward into the valley between the buildings along 34th Street.

Highly reflective shell of the beetle provided a good challenge. There are no overblown highlights but the sheen really isn't that pleasing.

Blown out highlight on the eye. Seems to be the only area affected. This tells me the eye is the most reflective part of the body. Also the second highlight is from direct sunlight, probably best to shoot in the shade.
