Diffuse muscle melanosis in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar): gores pathology

I tried to de-flash the impact of the flash by blocking it with a cardboard. However, I used tissue paper as it was flashing my eyes. The focal zoom was at the 100s as I wanted to zoom in to fit the subject into the frame while maintaining the notion not to let the flash overpower the image in exposure.

Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125) - [controls ambient light]

Aperture f/2.8 - [controls flash exposure]

Flash at 1/16 (I think) - through umbrella

This photo fits the lighting example of diffuse light because there are very little shadows, and the light seems to come from all directions
