What a difference a day can make in the life of a crocus. Yesterday the crocus was almost opened. I am glad I took the photo because today it was weather-worn and the petals were tightly folded. First 2020 Crocus (container plant from bulbs planted last fall). Morgan County, Alabama 2020

Previously unpublished archive shot and a great example of the simple fact that some people are more relaxed and easily flattered than others. Enjoy!

I took this portrait of the Little Female a few days ago.

Then, Little Red a Male I haven't seen for several months showed up.

I was able to capture him in a similar pose and thought it would be good to post them next to each other.

As a comparison.

Male and female.

Note the slight differences in head shape and his darker red color. Hence the name Little Red. He is a smaller male.

He has been hanging around her den for the last few days.

When they are focused on her, they completely ignore me. Which is cool, as it allows me to work in close.

Also, an older male that is really starting to show his age, is showing up. He is pretty banged up.

Some houses at Spalding, I found the nearest semi-detached houses quite interesting. They share a roof but one neighbour has tiles, the other slates, etc. There's a good bricked-up gateway as well at the start of the row.

*Working Towards a Better World

We have to use our diplomacy skills the world over, it is past time for quarreling and war, we have to get together, sit down and work our differences out, if we put our minds to it, this is possible and is the only solution for our children and future generations. Let's start today!!!

I couldn't make it to the hikoi yesterday but it was so great to see such a huge protest. A peaceful one that by all accounts had a great vibe. I just hope it makes a difference and The Treaty is upheld.

🇬🇧The village of Megalochori lies in the centre of the main island of Santorini, on the south-facing side of the caldera. Unlike the most sought-after villages such as Oïa or FIra, there is no view of the cliffs or the sea unless you walk westwards. In the end, however, this disadvantage is not a serious one, as Megalochori has managed to remain a small, pleasant, residential village far from the hustle and bustle of tourism.

“The difference you make today, counts in all our tomorrows.” - C. H. Pearce

Two weeks ago we visited the War memorial in Ottawa on our urban photo shoot of the city. There were a lot of lives lost over many wars to help us keep our freedoms. It made me think of other lives lost and how some people have a difficult time at Christmas because of those losses. Hopefully, we don't have to experience a war in our country. But there are still ways to make a difference in our tomorrows. These days I am trying to visit a few people who are struggling with being alone especially with this virus still proving to be a threat to our health and our freedom to gather. Sometimes it may be a brief drop off at the door with a quick hello so we can keep our distance. I am doing a little bit of supply work in a school for these two weeks to help alleviate some stress for former colleagues. But the rewards are when an 11 year old special needs student I hadn't seen in 2 years says to me without prompting. "Thank you for coming today."

Obviously the same village church in Pulham St Mary. Taken with the same in camera Fuji settings for jpeg as the other day and from a similar position. The only real significant change is the natural light between the two days. The building itself seems to change in terms of texture! I much prefer the first image for the light but I thought it was interesting the difference between the light conditions and why we chase it so much. Anyway I decided to post this today.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

The difference in size, it's hard to believe these two are from the same litter born earlier this year. . There now seems to be four cubs left from the original five

Be different. Be youself. That's what matters.

Two different forests and a mountain.

It is about a week between day temperatures (in the morning) of about - 10 degrees Celsius and today have 10 degrees Celsius over lunch time.

So no surprise that the crocus nearly exploded.

Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you'll start to see a big difference in your life.

This is an ancient recipe in an old Canadian Cookbook. My tried and true recipe for scones. And, I like to blob them onto the baking pan instead of forming or cutting them out..... I love a rustic looking scone.

Back in the day, it was just a recipe called Sweet Tea Biscuits (basic recipe). Under the main recipe... there were some variations. The first one was Currant Scones. So, as much as I've read about scones vs biscuits.... the only difference in these was .... the currants or raisins. I guess they didn't differentiate.

I added some lemon juice to the milk .... and, 1/2 tsp. Maple Flavouring and also some real Maple Syrup as well ...and then...when they came out of the oven...drizzled more Maple Syrup on them while they were hot.

These particular scones got slightly more brown than I like .... because I was doing the usual... 4 things at the same time.

"Somebody" said they were the best ever. ... and, that I should over brown them regularly.... hmppff .....

The same spot on the Eldred river with high water flows, shutter speeds of 1/20 and 1/640 of a second.

Had to dig up some old photos and came across this one, NS 52A heads south at Green in some weak sunlight on 7/2/2010. Flash forward 7 years (has it really been that long?) and all 3 units are now on the NS roster and have received Crescent cabs. NS 8305 is the prototype for the failed D8.5 program and numbered 8500, 5972 is now NS 6963, the GoRail unit and 5957 is now NS 7001.

Just messing about with some filters on my phone, I was taken by how different this scene at Stoney Clouds looked with brighter colours and thought it would be interesting seeing them together!
