A whitetail doe dines on one of our juniper shrubs. Tough time of year for them. Amazing what they eat to survive. Their hardiness and toughness is impressive.

I really have two selves...my music self and my street life self...but when they collide, it is to try to capture the energy in life, the joie de vivre in each moment. And, sometimes concert photography is fun and easy when it's an indie band you like who doesn't have the crazy rights grab photo contract and who actually might appreciate the fact that you enjoyed their set. The industry can be a real joy kill but there are still some great moments to be had.
There are some of you who only love my concert work and others of you who only love my street/protest work...but there are two selves that have to meet and reconcile as one. It's a struggle every day but these moments make it all worthwhile.

So it's not like I didn't know that Diet Coke was horrible for you but I still continued to drink it. Around 6-8 a day for about 10 years. That's A LOT of Diet Coke.
I recently decided to try and cut back. I though that getting down to 1 or 2 a day would be perfectly fine and then my boyfriend told me all of this really disturbing stuff about it that I never knew. I mean I knew it was bad but I had no idea it was THAT bad. So no more!
Goodbye old friend, though you are horrible for me, I will sadly still miss you!
Oh and apparently it actually makes you GAIN weight, so keep that in mind for those who drink it for the zero calories.

It’s simple! Eat anchovies by the ton all summer and into late fall. Eat them morning, noon and night and don’t forget those midnight snacks. Eat them forehead to forehead with friends, and don’t worry about your breath - hers is just as bad! Now, here’s the One Simple Trick: stop eating and swim to Baja and don’t eat all winter long, not a bite. Birth your baby, nurse it and in Spring swim all the way back to Monterey Bay on last year’s fat. Once you’re back in Californian waters, start packing on those pounds all over again. That’s right - Anchovies are Nature’s Beauty Food (tm)
Here are a few shots from an impromptu photo shoot for Art-Rock band Diet Kong. Their set at Pianos was delayed a bit so I grabbed my camera an put Keith and Alan in front of the lens. Considering I had 10 minutes and the crappy pop-up flash, these turned out well.

This plant is occasionally called the "Fairy Iris" because the fragile white petals not only look like fairy wings, but also have a tendency to disappear mysteriously overnight!
