De laatste foto van de vakantie werd even buiten Dolní Polubný gemaakt, op het stijgende trajectdeel wat voorzien is van het tandradsysteem. De T426.003 komt hier rustig van de helling gereden, waarna iedereen kon instappen voor de terugreis naar Tanvald. Hiermee eindigde een geslaagde 6-daagse fotorit 'Dieselpower in Tschechien'.
Dieselpower bij vertrek van de lege zinkertstrein uit Neerpelt.
De 5152 en 5180 zullen de trein samen naar Mol rijden...waar, zo blijkt later die dag, de 5180 de geest heeft gegeven en de 5152 alleen de rest van de klus mag klaren!

Vorig weekend is de 120ste verjaardag gevierd van station Ath, dan was er nog iets te beleven. Maar op een gewone doordeweekse dag is er momenteel niet veel te zien.
Dan was in 1984 nog wel iets anders te zien zoals je kan zien op deze opname.
Toen was het allemaal dieselpower wat de klok sloeg.
Toen ik op weg was naar Pairi Daiza zag ik 2 blauwe 62'ers rijden op de L90C richting Ath , na wat opzoekwerk zag ik paar uur later terug een trein met ongeveer hetzelfde nummer , ik dacht bij mezelf , deze gaan een werktrein ophalen dus effe afwachten en foto's nemen , spijtig genoeg waren de locs terug los onderweg , ditmaal als 97904 van Melle TW naar Mons-Aviation , geen idee wat bedoeling van deze ritten was...

A class Dr16 diesel locomotive number 2809 is marching towards the front of a heavy mineral train. There are two locomotives already there, but these locomotives are needed elsewhere, so three shall be responsible for pulling the train.

You couldn't wish for a more beautiful railway scene. Semaphore signals, a stunning landscape with mountains and old Sulzer diesel locomotives in front of passenger trains. At the scenery the Romanian State Railway locomotive 62-1095 is driving its train over a viaduct in Deealul Stefanitiei.
Very rarely, train R 4116 operates with an old Sulzer locomotive. Normally, this train is operated by a GM 064 locomotive.

Dit moet één van de laatste keren geweest zijn dat de HLR8219 van Trainworld aan het werk was in de bundel van de oude tractie werkplaats van Steenbrugge ( Brugge.be)
De bewaarplaats moest tegen eind dit jaar worden leeggemaakt daar de staat van de loodsen danig slecht was dat het niet meer veilig was om er iets in op te bergen / te betreden , ondertussen is alles daar dan ook weg en veilig opgeborgen in andere bewaarplaatsen van Trainworld , waar ik geen verdere info ga over geven

This must be one of the last times that HLR8219 could be seen active on the tracks near the old maintenance hangars of Steenbrugge ( Bruges.be )
The whole site had to be empty by the end of 2023 due the poor state of the buildings , by time of writing , al preserved trains of Trainworld has been moved to other places , of which I won't give further information

It seems to be evening, but it's not as this is the very usual scene in the afternoon during the beginning of the year. A class Dr19 diesel electric locomotive number 2835 is delivering some timber wagons to Pieksämäki as on the mighty Kallansillat railway bridge, there is a modern view and end of the day against it.
Roar of river flowing under the majestic bridge of Koria seems to dominate the sounds of early spring. But for a brief moment, the sound of caterpillar motor echoes in the surroundings as Fenniarail's empty freight train to Haapamäki speeds there where skies are probably blue as the paint coat of the class Dr18 diesel locomotive.

Le TER Z21634 double à contresens le long train de travaux. Ce train participe au ''RVB'' renouvellement des voies entre Blois et Tours. Il est accompagné de 4 autres trains qui chaque jour changent entre 900 mètres et 1 kilomètre de voie.

Feel lucky to have witnessed this beast at The Glen. The exhaust note is muted in comparison to the gasoline powered cars. Would have liked to hear it solo on track.
Op zaterdag 17 februari 2024 waren er werken op de L86 tussen Oudenaarde en Gent , waardoor ik moest pendelen met 13xxx treinen tussen Ronse en Oudenaarde , mijn trouwste fan , Cédric , volgde mij de ganse voormiddag om foto's te nemen langs de prachtige L86.

Exposure: 3 brackets of -2 Ev, +/-0 Ev and +2 Ev at f/2.8, securely mounted on a tripod
Technique: HDR tone mapping and PS post-processing.
Two copies of the original layer were used for resp. selective sharpening and selective noise removal. Custom Curve, Hue/Saturation and Selective Color adjustment layers are being used to enhance global tones and contrast. Removing halos was a darn task and turned out to be the time killer here. Tone mapping often causes unrealistic halos. The halo around the red-brownish pile of Moor unrealistically brightened a large portion of the sky.
This halo was removed by creating an extra, slightly adjusted, Levels layer with a black & white gradient applied to its corresponding mask. Finally with a large, 5% opacity, soft-edged brush I painted 'out' the darkest parts in the upper-left areas to compensate the 'anti-halo' effect on the other sides in the sky.
Today the two CLR NOHAB's headed a freight train loaded with wood from Freiberg to Wismar. In the best evening light the train passes the pumped-storage power station in Niederwartha near Dresden.
Heute waren die beiden CLR NOHAB's mit einem Holzzug unterwegs von Freiberg nach Wismar. Im besten Licht passiert der das Pumpspeicherwerk in Niederwartha bei Dresden.

An usual Easter afternoon had brought an unusual fellow on an unusual place in Siilinjärvi. North Rail's class Dr21 diesel locomotive number 1762 was brought to Siilinjärvi yard for maintenance session as an Estonian maintenance crew is doing some check ups to the massive diesel, so it's works can continue on the following week in Yara's at Ruokosuo.
