As the yard of Seinäjoki has been reached, the only operational class Dr12 diesel electric locomotive falls asleep at a yard, yard which once was conquered by its kind. As locomotives different kinds from different eras rest, the silence of the yard awakes.
It was because of the Bicentennial celebrations that, while waiting for the Flying Scotsman to come, we were treated to the sight and sound of the Silver City Comet racing past.

Historyczne wydobycie kredy rozpoczęto tutaj około 1926 roku pod kątem przemysłu cementowego dla potrzeb cementowni Firley w Rejowcu, lecz dopiero w 1960 roku kopalnia kredy rozpoczęła eksploatację dla potrzeb Cementowi Chełm.
Aktualnie powierzchnia obszaru górniczego wynosi około 224 h. Produkcja odbywa się tu w systemie ciągłym, zmianowym, siedem dni w tygodniu.

Treinen die vanuit Los Angeles het oosten van de Verenigde Staten willen bereiken, moeten in het zuiden van Californië de Cajon Pass oversteken, tussen de San Bernardino Mountains en de San Gabriel Mountains. Op dit traject is het een komen en gaan van lange goederentreinen, die zonder uitzondering worden getrokken door meerdere diesellocomotieven, soms geassisteerd door opdruklocomotieven aan het eind van de trein of ‘helpers’ halverwege de trein. Het traject is grotendeels viersporig, waarbij die sporen op sommige plaatsen op een behoorlijke afstand van elkaar liggen.
Op de foto een trein die getrokken wordt door maar liefst elf diesellocomotieven van de Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad, die bezig zijn met een klim naar de top van de pas die op ongeveer 1.100 meter ligt. Voor de liefhebbers: de locnummers zijn 7713, 7737, 138, 7738, 7703, 7730, 7760, 7755, 7766, 7771 en 103.
Trains heading from the Los Angeles area to the east of the United States must cross the Cajon Pass in southern California, between the San Bernardino Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains. On this track there is a coming and going of long freight trains, which without exception are pulled by several diesel locomotives, sometimes assisted by 'helpers' at the back of the train or halfway the train. The route is largely made up of four tracks, with these tracks in some places at a considerable distance from each other.
The train in the picture is pulled by no less than eleven diesel locomotives of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad, which are climbing to the top of the pass which is at about 1,100 meters.
For the real enthusiasts: the locomotive numbers are 7713, 7737, 138, 7738, 7703, 7730, 7760, 7755, 7766, 7771 and 103.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.
I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.
I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in England.
All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.
I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.
All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.
I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.

8201, 8204 and 8215 on 7FP1, are heading out to the Telford Cut Coal Mine near Leigh Creek, some 200 km away, to load another trainful of coal for the Northern Power Station at Stirling North.
The air adjacent to the train is swirling through the empty wagons, stirring up the coal dust contained in them.

MS Selandia, the world's first diesel-driven ocean going general cargo ship, at the time of her maiden voyage in 1912. The 112.8 m x 16.2 m ship was powered by two B&W 8-cylinder 1250 hp diesel engines. My restoration and colorization of an image in the Danish National Museum archive.
"Selandia and sister ship Fionia were results of negotiations between the Danish East Asiatic Company's president, Hans Niels Andersen, and Burmeister & Wain shipyards, Copenhagen, Denmark which had been introduced to the concept of marine diesel engines by engineer Ivar Knudsen, who led the ship's development."
"She was built at Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen, and launched on 4 November 1911 before embarking on her maiden journey from Copenhagen to Bangkok on 22 February 1912. Selandia did not have a funnel; instead exhaust from her engines escaped through exhaust ports in the aft mast."

In 1936 the Danish East Asiatic Company sold Selandia to a company registered in Panama, which renamed her Norseman. In 1940 she was sold to Finnish owners and renamed Tornator. In 1941 the war prevented her from returning to Finland from Japan. She was then chartered by the Japanese shipping company Yamashita. On January 26, 1942, Tornator ran aground near Omaisaki. The ship was wrecked, but the Finnish crew could be saved.

The beautifully preserved 42103 is pictured travelling through Ambleside near Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills on Saturday 22nd October 2022 whilst in charge of Australian Rail Track Corporation's (ARTC) Inspection Train that checks the overall track geometry of the line for any faults using specialised scanning equipment mounted on the locomotive and carriages.
The vintage four-motor-powered (F Class) GM 10 one of only eleven operating in the original batch of locomotives delivered from Clyde Engineering in Granville, NSW, in 1951/52, assists 42103 over the steeply graded Adelaide Hills or Main South Line. The came from Maroona in Victoria and was bound for the Islington Railway Workshops.

De aanvoertrein naar Sloe is jaren lang een gewilde trein geweest vanwege de 1600 die regelmatig er op te vinden was. Sinds het uit dienst gaan van de Nez-Cassé's bij DB is er echter niet veel interessants meer op te vinden. Deze dag was dat gelukkig anders.
20 juli 2021 was ik even de Sloehaven ingegaan nav. een autotrein van DB, aangezien de autoproductie een tijd op z'n gat lag was dit namelijk redelijk zeldzaam. Gelukkig is het vervoer nu weer langzaam opgestart.. Na het vastleggen hiervan fietste ik weer terug, maar eerst nog even checken waarmee de aanvoer reed, en aangezien dit dubbeltractie 6400 was fietst ik direct door naar de Jonker Fransweg, waar de trein niet veel later langs kwam.
Het is 16:39 als DBC 6455 en 6421 de twee fotografen te Lewedorp passeren met 12 gasketelwagens aan de haak als trein 61071 naar de Sloehaven.
* De foto is met mijn oude camera gemaakt en de scherpte was om te janken, er is dan ook flink wat aan gesleuteld om de scherpte ietsje terug te halen.

A freight train from Kirkniemi is passing the Finnish railway museum in Hyvinkää. As the loud sound of MGO motors of the class Dv12 echoes, it is a sing on the final day of an ear of diesel in the Hyvinkää-Karjaa line.
1 februari kreeg ik de melding door dat vanuit Zevenbergen een TCS 10100X met een IRP 2106 onderweg waren richting Roosendaal. Vanuit daar naar Roosendaal, kan hij geen kant op zonder te keren en dit gecombineerd met het feit dat de deze combinatie al eerder naar Sloe was geweest, was het wel duidelijk dat de blauwe ex NS 1700 Zeeland zou betreden.
Vanwege het koude weer werd vanuit school niet de fiets gepakt, maar werd gewoon op het kopje perron van Goes gewacht, welke ik al eerder had gebruikt voor de Akiem 186 365.
Hij werd verwacht achter de trein van 15:16 te zitten, en toen het eenmaal 15:00 werd en er nog geen verdere melding werd gemaakt te Bergen, Krabbedijke of Kruiningen, twijfelde ik even of de loc combi daadwerkelijk de Zeeuwse grens was gepasseerd. Echter, kreeg ik om 15:15 een melding doorgestuurd dat hij een halfuur eerder door Bergen was gekomen! Na vertrek van de 15:16, sprong het sein gelijk weer op geel en toen op groen. De spoorbomen sloten en in de verte zag ik de onmisbare gele frontseinen. Toen passeerde ook de TCS 101003 de camera in Goes met in opzending de 2106 van IRP.

Climbing on top of the hill of Kasurila, we can see the vast scene touch by the autumn itself and shaped by the human touch. In the middle of this, two class Dv12 diesel locomotives have started their journey from Siilinjärvi to Pieksämäki. Soon, the mainline is reached as in the distance the train is cruising on the scene of colours while the symphony of their engines roar through the Finnish landscapes.

sztywny duet szerokotorowych "Cmelaków" 771 809-1 oraz 771 812-5 ściąga skład ukraińskich węglarek z górki prowadzącej do miejscowej przeładowni. Koncentrat rudy żelaza został przeładowany do wagonów innofreight o rozstawie 1435mm, które chwilę później wciągnęła na grupy odjazdowe lokomotywa S-297. Uwiecznienie klasycznych lokomotyw serii 771 może stać się za pewien czas trudniejsze niż dotychczas ze względu na to, że w przyszłych latach ZSSK Cargo zaplanowało modernizację szerokotorowych "Cmelaków" obsługujących punkt przeładunkowy w Ciernej.

Op de laatste dag van de fototour "Dieselpower in Tsjechië" brachten we met een goederentrein een bezoek aan het traject Tanvald - Harrachov. De spoorlijn van Tanvald naar Harrachov is een bijzondere (en fraaie) bergspoorlijn. De spoorlijn gaat direct vanuit Tanvald stevig helling opwaarts richting Kořenov en Harrachov. De maximale helling van deze spoorlijn bedraagt 58 promille, waardoor delen van deze spoorlijn zijn uitgevoerd als tandradspoorlijn.
Voor deze spoorlijn zijn door het Oostenrijkse Simmering-Graz-Pauker AG (SGP) en Floridsdorf Wien 4 loc's van het type T426.0 ontwikkeld. Deze loc's zijn van 1961 tot 1989 ingezet tussen Tanvald en Harrachov, waarbij de treinen vanuit Tanvald geduwd het traject op gingen (iets wat nog altijd gebeurd). De bekendste bijnaam voor dit loctype is Rakušanka, waarmee wordt verwezen naar zijn Oostenrijkse afkomst. Rond 1990 zijn deze loc's buiten dienst gesteld en vervangen door de veel modernere loc serie 743, die nog altijd actief is met buurtgoederentreinen op deze spoorlijn.
Van de 4 loc's van de serie T426.0 die bestemd waren voor deze tandrad spoorlijn, zijn er twee bewaard gebleven door de Vědeckotechnická společnost při železniční stanici Tanvald, o.s..
Wij hadden deze dag een rit met loc T426.003 van Tanvald tot Harrachov met een korte buurtgoederentrein. Op de foto is de trein vlak buiten Tanvald te zien, waar al direct het tandradspoor aanwezig is. De trein wordt hier richting Desná geduwd.
