de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter in a very striking paint scheme on finals to land at RAF Fairford for the RIAT 2023 air show.
The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter first flew in 1965 and is still in production to this day. The type is used as a Short Take Off and Landing utility aircraft and airliner which can land on very short airfields and unprepared airstrips. The type has been popular with Arctic and Antarctic survey missions as a support aircraft operating from ice runways, a version is also available with floats for operating from water.

The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter is a Canadian STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada, which produced the aircraft from 1965 to 1988; Viking Air purchased the type certificate, then restarted production in 2008 before re-adopting the DHC name in 2022
C-GCEV, a 40-year-old de Havilland Canada DHC-7-103 Dash 7, on approach to runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario.
It was arriving as TIN801 (Air Tindi Ltd.) from Thunder Bay, Ontario and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
Serial number 63 first flew on October 17, 1981 and began its career as P2-ANN with Air Niugini Limited in Papua New Guinea on November 6, 1981.
Only 113 DHC-7s were produced and today fewer than 20 remain airworthy. It is indeed a rare bird.
