I took this pic at Vaishno Devi . The temple is near the town of Katra, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most revered places of worship in Northern India. The shrine is at an altitude of 5200 feet and a distance of approximately 14 kilometers. And the only way to go up there is by walking
Welcome to a night in the office from hell.
It’s 1983 and in an abandoned workplace in the Midlands, two solitary clerical workers sit down at their desks to begin a routine night shift. But as the evening creeps into the night, a confidential file is accidentally opened and a quietly horrifying secret is unleashed. A secret that’ll soon turn their lives of rotas, packed lunches and fag breaks violently upside down and the workers, against each other.
A fantasy thriller with a pounding 1980s soundtrack, Stoke-on-Trent’s Potboiler Theatre invite you to a world of ruthless ambition, desperate escapism and deeply held desires: a world of Devotion.
Devotion was supported with funding from National Lottery through Arts Council England and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. With thanks also to New Vic Theatre, Mitchell Arts Centre and Moonbrushed Media.

Every year devotees throng the streets of Trivandrum with their bodies pierced...essentially a 'nercha' (a vow) taken in order to fulfill some wish.
This is an annual sight at the Shivaratri festival here. Though i had taken a few pictures last year, I was stunned to see such young children in the procession this time around. I actually found it rather disturbing...maybe because no child would (sub)consciously make a decision like this, I'm not saying that the children are forced into it...but still its odd, to put children through this (some looked as young as 4-5 yrs)
On my uphill trip to Tirumala (a pilgrimage), i saw this lady lighting tiny camphor tablets on every step of the 10,000 steps enroute. Now that's Devotion!

There are different modes of devotion;
that which foolishly weeps for me when I am not physically present; that which surrenders with wild abandon; and that which is steady and strong, ever attached to my Will.
I accept all these forms of devotion.
The choice between one or the other is not yours, for it is I who rule your feelings, modifying them.
If you try to go where I do not will, I will stop you; you can do nothing apart from my will,
Be assured of that; this is the highest devotion. -------------------------- BABA
