The Maria van Jessekerk is a neo-Gothic Roman Catholic parish church in the city of Delft. The church was built between 1875 and 1882 and was designed by Evert Margry, student of P.J.H. Cuypers. Originally this church was dedicated to Saint Joseph, but since 1971 it changed its dedication to Maria van Jesse. The church was the first Catholic church to be re-established in the center of the city after the Reformation. Maria van Jesse is a statue of grace that forms the center of the worship of Maria in the city of Delft.

Back when I lived in Pittsburgh, I loved going for walks in Frick Park. On snowy days, it was so touching to see the devotion of dog-owners taking their pups for a walk no matter what the weather.

After long loooong talks with special people, feelings and thoughts,I've decided that nothing really matters unless you try your best to be real and devoted.

Devotion is such a strong word that hides much more than the obvious. It hides the secret of finding your talent and hold on to it like a precious treasure. It hides the feeling that whatever happens nothing will change.

It's all about the earnest attachment to a cause or a person,in witch case that person is yourself and the cause is to stay real and accept who you are, with your flaws and your skills.

Don't expect anyone to be devoted to you unless you are devoted to yourself first. It's all about you and there is nothing egoist about that. You have to be ok with yourself so you can be ok with others.

Here's a shot of a nun at the Phaung Daw Oo temple, Inle Lake, Burma. There were three nuns in a row chanting which was echoing around the temple, it was very soothing.

The five Buddha images at the temple have been so heavenly covered with gold leaf (only by men!) they look like like mushrooms.

Colombo, commercial and legislative capital of Sri Lanka, may well be a multi-religious, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural city – but it was the many Buddha statues, in all their different glorious forms, that stood out most for me.

Gangaramaya Temple is one of Colombo’s most important Buddhist complexes: a place of worship and centre of learning. It is packed with innumerable ornate Buddha statues.

Here is a portrait from the Ratha Yatra series. During such popular Hindu cultural events 'Sadhus' come from far and wide and spend their time happily beside temples by singing and chanting merrily. Such sights are very beautiful and generate a sense of faith. Taking portrait shots of Sadhus is a cliche practise but extremely enjoying. My previous portrait of a Sadhu shows a contemplative mood that is perhaps melancholic. This sadhu was sitting with a few other sadhus and a few common people, all singing and chanting happily and thoughtfully. After this I will upload a frame that I took of the entire event. I took this one exclusively to capture the mood of this sadhu and common men in the background. I gave an exposure in my camera that will blur the common men and give importance to the Sadhu. I shall be glad to have your opinions about this portrait.
