Our neighbors invited those of us who did not have Easter plans to their home for dinner and dominoes. I took sweet potatoes and these deviled eggs. Yes, the one in the center is supposed to resemble a chick.
And in the game, I managed to achieve the second-worst score.
Borrowed Mark's camera to take this since I forgot my camera at home. Pretty good for ISO 2000.
Deviled eggs were my contribution to the Seatog Christmas party last night.
For supper tonight my wife prepared a chicken curry casserole, deviled eggs, Amish friendship bread and banana pudding for dessert.

Some Heineken 0.0 along with supermarket fried chicken and deviled eggs, along with grapes and strawberries. The Munchkin insisted on kung pao chicken or some other ghastly American Chinese food.

I've never been a big fan of pickling, so these weren't really to my liking. Also, the pickling made the eggs much firmer than normal deviled eggs. Nice idea and such but there's a reason these aren't seen more often.
Okay, I admit, this is kind of a lame portrait tonight. But, I 'm pooped and still getting it under the wire at midnight. I just got back from the final performance of The Two Gentlemen From Verona and then dinner with some friends, and I took some pictures at the show and at the restaurant, but I didn't like them, so...
While emptying out the dishwasher this evening I saw this egg dish, used for the first time at the BBQ yesterday, which was a legacy to me from my parents' move in May. I love deviled eggs, my mom used to make them infrequently and has a lovely milk glass deviled egg platter that we used through the 60s and 70s. But in her old age, she started just buying things and this platter came from a discount store called Ross, and wasn't very expensive, but I uncovered it and at least a couple more deviled egg platters during the move. Mom had simply kept buying these kinds of things, forgetting that 1) she already had a nicer one or two or three, and 2) she hadn't made deviled eggs in maybe 25 years, if then. So I packed one of the platters in my stuff, and my sister-in-law took one home, too, and when my Mom saw this plate in my stuff, she maintained that it was "hers," in a half-serious way. When we showed her the rest of the platters in her collection, and reminded her that she never made deviled eggs anymore, she laughed and realized that we were right and happily gave us the dishes. Others (but not the milk glass one) went into a box to Goodwill, but Mom doesn't yet know that...
My wife fixed a very tasty Easter dinner of baked ham, green bean casserole, crunch top potatoes, baked beans and deviled eggs.
I love this tray...I always laugh when I see it.
It's worth making eggs just to use the tray, in my opinion.
