Deviled Eggs With Shrimp and Olives
This elegant version of stuffed eggs works well on a buffet and will certainly become a party favorite.
Long ago our friends had a tradition of frequent potlucks for no other reason than to hang out together and eat casseroles and pixie sticks. Those gatherings became less and less frequent as we all got married and life became full of...stuff.
Last night we resurrected the potluck tradition, bringing in some rookies to complement the seasoned veterans. It was a grand occasion and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
I am immensely thankful for my friends. They rock my face off.

For Easter dinner my wife prepared ham, crunch top potatoes, baked bean hot dish, green bean casserole, deviled eggs and hot cross buns.
Three versions including (top-center) sweet pickle relish, chipotle pepper flakes and Tapatio sauce, (left) "Egg Salad" mixture; shallots, celery, sweet red pepper and carrots, garnished with julienned celery and red pepper and a thin slice of radish and then (right-center) basic recipe garnished with caviar and smoked paprika.
Tasty and pretty to look at.

Happy Thanksgiving! Emily, Arri, and I made our way to Aledo after baking some bread and putting together a green bean casserole (not my favorite casserole, but it’s what we were assigned). As usual, even though there were only six of us, we had enough food to comfortably feed 20. Mom showed me the smell in their Tesla.
According to her, when they got home a week or so ago from buying groceries for Thanksgiving, she asked Dad to put the turkey and ham in the fridge/freezer in the garage. She then went inside to put her handful of groceries away...and Dad never put them away. The two of them drove took a trip to Orlando for their anniversary that weekend. Several days went by before they opened up the car again, and out came a wall of rotten meat smell. She says she’s been cleaning it with vinegar and baking soda for several days already, and the smell is still pretty intense. I hope they’re able to get the poor car back to normal again!
Emily and I left Aledo at the same time Mom left for work. We had to get our things together for tomorrow’s big trip to Fayetteville, AR.
For supper my wife prepared baked chicken with Italian breading, green beans, scalloped potatoes and deviled eggs.
My wife prepared a nice Easter dinner consisting of ham, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, brown and serve rolls, baked beans, crunch top potatoes and deviled eggs.
Okay - this is the part where I joke about the word "deviled," and write something punny like "Satanic Ovoids." Whew... that was tough! Now, on to better things. There are several photos following this one above, which detail several steps in making this lovely and tasty dish. As well, there are numerous variations upon a theme, and creatively, it is up to the cook to make that call. This is but one simple way. •Caveat: If you're viewing this picture with the Flickr iPhone app, you can't see the photos that follow in the comments following this initial post. You'll need to view them in a full-blown browser - either Safari (in the iPhone) or Atomic (also for the iPhone, and I wholeheartedly recommend this browser for its superiority!).•
