A conference to Assist Minorities in Finances and Business Opportunities

 

San Diego, CA – The Mabuhay Alliance, a San Diego-based nonprofit that assists minority communities with economic opportunities, will host their 6th Annual Economic Development Conference on October 17th, 2009, at the Sheraton Park Hotel The Anaheim Resort. 1855 S. Harbor Blvd. Anaheim, CA 92802.

 

This year's theme will be "Partnering for a better Future," and will feature workshops intended to educate and assist small business owners, families, and individuals to gain insight on how to effectively manage business and personal finances.

 

The workshops will be lead by industry experts and cover such topics as "Foreclosure Prevention Program," "Micro-Business Technical Assistance," "Financial Literacy," and "Supplier Diversity."

The conference will be concluded with a gala dinner, in which the Mabuhay Alliance will present guest speakers Timothy Simon, Commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission, and California Assembly Member Ted Lieu of the 53rd District. The conference will also honor and recognize the esteemed careers of the Greenlining Founders Robert Gnaizda and John Gamboa.

 

The conference has been recognized by both the Presidents of the United States and of the Philippines as well as by the Governor of California as contributing to the growth and development of minority communities in California. The Mabuhay Alliance's mission is "to be the preferred conduit of economic development, through technical assistance between the government, corporations and minority groups in California." Since 2004, Mabuhay Alliance has worked towards greater representation of minority groups, provision of stable funding, and the development of great relationships with corporate partners and good alliances by providing programs that empower them.

The excessive development of Darwin is forcing many people further to the edge of an quickly diminishing fringe.

 

My bike is parked on what had been a slope leading to One Mile Dam Camp.

Now there is a pile of earth towering over the camp giving developers a view down over those resilient urban residents who refuse to be pushed out.

 

But this is just a picture of my bike..!

The bike is my preferred transport for skirting the fringes.

The 3rd Regional Internet Governance Forum (RIGFAZ-2015) on “Creating Regional Development Environment of ICT Innovations" was held on December 3-4, 2015. RIGFAZ-2015 is jointly organized by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNDP Azerbaijan and ADA University. Annual Regional Internet Governance Forum is an outcome of the 7th Internet Governance Forum held in Baku in 2012.

 

The purpose of the event was to foster joint cooperation and exchange of experience between National ICT participants and international specialists, at the same time to ensure involvement of regions in the Regional Internet Governance of Azerbaijan which is a regional hub of the ICT development. In the framework of the event, interesting topics on “Transforming Education with Technology”, “Cyber Security for Privacy and Innovation - Initiatives of the Regional Cyber Security Alliances”, “Computer Science Education”, "The Technology Future 2016-2020 - Forecasters Show What Will Come", "Smart Nation Strategy - Governments are using ICT to create a New Society", "Social Media and Sharing Economy" and "The impact of the economic diversification in ICT innovation environment" were discussed. About 250-300 representatives of the Government and other foreign countries, business representatives, academic institutions and members of civil society joined the discussion on current issues related to the Internet in upcoming two days.
