REDCAR'S first artist in residence is in post and set to record the continued development of the seaside town.

 

Renowned photographer, Ian Macdonald, has been appointed by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for the year-long project.

 

The 66-year-old, whose work has been exhibited around the world, will have a studio in the Redcar Beacon, where some of his photographs will be on display.

The conference on “Post-2015 Development Agenda and Azerbaijani Youth” was held today by joint cooperation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Academy of Public Administration, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA). The conference was a validation and closing of post-2015 national consultations which had been held for two years in Azerbaijan. In September 2015, UN Member States will vote for the Post-2015 development agenda during autumn session of the General Assembly. The outcome of consultations will be applied to preparation of the above mentioned agenda.

 

Ms. Indira Hajiyeva Azad Rahimov, Head of Department on Youth Affairs of the Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. Antonius Broek, UN Resident Coordinator, Mr. Andro Shilakadze, UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan, Ms. Nato Alhazishvili, UNDP Deputy Resident Coordinator, Mr. Urkhan Alakbarov, rector of Academy of Public Administration and Mr. Shahin Sayidzade, Chairman of NAYORA made speeches and discussed new UN global development agenda, sustainable development objectives as well as priorities and problems of new development agenda of Azerbaijan. Recently adopted Development Strategy of Azerbaijani Youth was also put forward for extensive discussion during event.

 

While participating at consultations youth organizations, representatives of governmental, international donors and agencies, mass media expressed their opinion on the means of localization of new global development goals in Azerbaijan.

 

Note that the second round of Post-2015 national consultations led by UN in Azerbaijan laucnhed in July-August 2014. The consultations have been organized with the representatives of youth and youth organizations in Ganja, Guba and Baku cities with a joint cooperation of UNDP, UNFPA, Ministry of Youth and Sports and NAYORA. As a result,, a joint final report was prepared and the outcomes have been presented to UN Headquarter.

Ecovolis is a program which aims the promotion of ecological transportation, by giving our city more clean air, adding a civic European practice which helps in economic, social and environmental development of our community. Through Ecovolis PASS aim to offer a new & innovative service for the community of Tirana through ecological transportation by bicycle. Ecovolis is a public service provided to the citizens through bicycle station placed at different point of the city, to move and perform their daily chores. These bike stations will be established by PASS and will be monitored in cooperation with local authorities, employing people with few employment opportunities and other youths.
