Albemarle Terrace (Slee & Bryson, 1916-17). Similar typology as Kenmare, but here done up as a taste of Georgian London, and forming the complete cul-de-sac without help from the neighbors (see satellite view again). Again, each unit enjoys some semblance of a public realm as well as a modest rear yard. An alternate version of what single-family residential development might hvae become in the automobile age.

Ostensibly a picturesque view over meadows out to the Bristol Channel. Unfortunately these meadows have been handed to developers for yet more overpriced housing for, to a large extent, people enticed into Cwmbran for the cheap to them, housing. Shame on Torfaen Council.

What does ‘Earth’ mean to you?

The Western Australian Youth Theatre Company (WAYTCo), Yirra Yaakin Theatre and Filmbites youth film school join forces on April 3rd and 10th in a creative engagement with young people who like collaborative theatre techniques, scriptwriting and film to explore the meaning of the word ‘EARTH’. This single word, with it’s multitude of meanings, is the starting point in two three-hour sessions of creative interactions using performing arts techniques. This creative collaboration will inform WAYTCo’s production “Earth” late in 2011. These sessions are free to attend.

Both 3-hour sessions will be held at King St Arts Centre on Murray St central Perth starting at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. Come to one or both Sunday sessions and be inspired. For more information visit waytco.wordpress.com or phone 92262144
