While working with the World Foundation for Environment and Development - I took scientists on a tour of Bhutan's natural environment in search of potential collaborative research projects between foreign and national scientists. These boys were walking home from school and were curious about us.

Teaching staff from LVCC traded places in the classroom and became the students today at DeSales University for annual professional development training.

Wren Landing and the North Dock looking across to West India Quay with the pontoon bridge, Canary Wharf Development - Redevelopment started in late 1980's on former West India docks on the Isle of Dogs. Part of a 10 yr 1.95 km² "enterprise zone" governed by London Docklands Development Corporation where housing, office space and transport infrastructure was built (now including 2 lines, Docklands Light Railway and Jubilee Line on the Underground) and tax incentives available. Canary Wharf has 437,000 m² of office and retail space and is the main office district outside the City of London's financial core. Ongoing development around Canary Wharf continues.

This was just before one of the elders pictured went home, so we snapped a picture of the whole district.

The audience of 145 leaders heard briefings on a range of topics that included customer service, mentoring subordinates, administrative and maintenance matters, and leadership itself. Speakers included Col. John M. Scott, Commander, USAG Red Cloud and Area I, and other garrison officials. The afternoon was capped by an indoor supper of hot dogs and hamburgers.

This public fórum, held on 23 April 2018 in Maputo, shared the results of the report on the business landscape for Mozambican manufacturing firms.

 

The event shed light on the current challenges faced by micro-, small- and medium-sized firms in the country’s manufacturing sector — and how policy can tackle these issues to allow firms to thrive. Special attention was paid to the business environment in which these enterprises operate.

Grace Hsia Haberl, a University of Michigan lecturer in the College of Engineering Center for Entrepreneurship, and Co-Founder/CEO of Warmilu, works closely with UPS employees volunteering by cutting and preparing materials to make Warmilu Infant Warming Blankets at the close of a professional development weekend at the UPS Intergrad Driver Training Facility in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

 

The development weekend was designed for women from around the Eastern states who have been identified as rising talent within UPS. Hsia Haberl, who is formerly a UPS employee spoke to the women about her story and the skills needed for advancement, including advocating for themselves, networking, and challenging themselves in the directions they want to grow. She was the final presenter of the weekend and after her talk the attendees and other presenters joined Hsia Haberl to cut and prepare pieces of the Warmilu Infant Warming Blankets that will soon be deployed at hospitals in resource scarce parts of the world.

On any given day, you will have various customers dropping by for all sorts of things. This Audi S3 was in for an ECU remap/tune. The customer left with a huge grin on his face! :)

REDCAR'S first artist in residence is in post and set to record the continued development of the seaside town.

 

Renowned photographer, Ian Macdonald, has been appointed by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for the year-long project.

 

The 66-year-old, whose work has been exhibited around the world, will have a studio in the Redcar Beacon, where some of his photographs will be on display.
