Well... the met/quin looked all right, nice (rather grey, and big) needles, but the wax stopper of the second part disintegrated (that's the dark stuff); the act/cons had become rock hard, so I took a hammer and solved that problem. Dissolved the lot (as I did before) and filtered.
But did it wòrk? do you ask...
Well, in fact, it most certainly did! See next pic.

At the Snaptic Developer Conference I took tons of people shots but this one of Wired's Brian Chen's funky sneakers was my favorite one. Day 147. May 27, 2010.

Here at the top of the hill, near the Fox and Hounds pub, this parade of shops serves the local community. The A69 is the designation of this road, or at least it was until demoted to A186 thanks to the Western By-pass.

In Lyon, France, May 12, 2023 with my Minolta XD5 (years 1979-1984), Lyon, France.
The Minolta XD5 body was equipped with a Minolta MD (III) 1:2.5 f=100mm lens with a protective Hoya 49mm UV HMC Expert Slim filter or a generic 49mm yellow filter as indicated bellow.
The camera was loaded with an Ilford Pan100. panchromatic film exposed for 100 ISO using either the body light meter in the manual mode and/or checked with a Minolta Autometer III equipped with a 10° viewfinder for selective measuring privileging the shadow zones.

After exposures (I made 39 exposures) the film was processed using Adox Adonal developer (equivalent to Agfa Rodinal) at dilution 1+25, 20°c for 9min. The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were then processed without intermediate files in LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg accompanied by some documentary smartphone Vivio Y76 color pictures.
About the camera : Minolta XD5 was manufactured in Japan and released in 1979, two years after the XD7 (XD11 in certain markets). The Minolta XD series was resized to the "gold dimensions" of the Barnack Leica (approx. 13x3x5 cm) as Olympus did for its OM1 several years before. Minolta XD5 is very closed to the XD7 body with only a few features suppressed. It has the same electronic shutter made of vertical metal blades and was the first SLR offering a double automatism with aperture priority (A) or shutter priority (S) when coupled to a new series of Minolta MD lenses. XD bodies served has basis for the Leica R4 to R7 SLR's and was developed consequently with Leitz. XD camera were more expensive than Minolta X-700 and X-500 famous SLR's and co-existed to the Minolta catalog from 1981 to 1984.
I found this XD5 from my local photography shop with its likely original normal lens : a Minolta MD (III) 1:2 f=50mm.
The Minolta lens MD (III) 1:2.5 f=100mm is part of my Minolta lens collection since year 2014. The lens has its own build-in shade hood with two coaxial telescopic cylinders particularly well designed and constructed.
This is an experiment combining p-Aminophenol(ates) and Ascorbates (Vit C).
All the experiments are done on PolypanF.
The intention was to use less VitC than the usual formulae.
(reason : Rodinal/R09 1+100 only contains something like 0.6 g/L pAp developer, why use
several grams of VitC, with a high risk of fog and not so fine grain.)
(All the next amounts/weights are for a 250cc developer.)
I used 0.5 g VitC in combination with R09 1+100 1+200 1+250 and 1+500 -- I also used it in
combination with 4, 6 and 9 g instant coffee. (the pictures at the Ursel Castle are made
with the 9g.
I call these developers VitRo 100 .. 500 and VitCa 4,6 or 9.
It has to be noticed (visible with the Rodinal combination) there is no single trace of
oxidation (against the air - the reduction of silver salts works as normal, even stronger).
(Agfa claimed the darkening of the Rodinal during development is a result of the anti-halo
layer, this is only partly correct (simply because films without this layer also show this
result).
The VitRo developers contain :
3 g Soda (deca) .. Na2CO3.10H20 (= 106 + 10x18 g/mol - to calculate the mono etc..)
(this is needed to neutralize the H's from the Ascorbic acid, otherwise it will
take the OH's from the Rodinal/R09 and turn the developer ineffective).
0.5g VitC
2.5 - 2 - 1.25 - 1 cc R09
2.5cc of a 2.5% solution of Borax. (finer, rounder grain)
Example above is made with the VitRo 250.
Developing times : (PolypanF)
VitRo 100 12' 80iso
VitRo 200 20' 64iso
VirRo 250 25' 100-125iso (example above)
* VitRo 500 40' 64iso
(*) to be calculated : enough developer for the silversalts on the film ???
-----------------------
The VitCa is trickier, because the acidity of the coffee.
I start with 4g Soda (deca) and add 0.5 g / g instant coffee.
VitCa 60 = 7g Soda (deca)
VitCa 90 = 8.5 g Soda (deca)
After the water, the soda, the VitC (0.5g) I add 1cc 0.1% solution of KI (Potassium Iodide)
The VitCa 60 shows less contrast than the 90, perfect for portrait ...
Developing times between 50' and 60' push the PPF about 2x in the 90.
The 60 after one hour seems to reach 64iso (but I only tested with studio light, outside light
needs to be tested).
But should make excellent developers, with fine grain and great tonality and the ability
to push the film without burned-out highlights several stops.
