t was a morning painted in dull grays, the clouds weighed heavy over santa ponça, and the sea rolled lazily at the shore. on the damp sand, the ball danced—silent, precise, relentless. his eyes followed it like a hunter, locked in focus, every movement a story of dedication and rhythm. the air carried a chill, but his steps carved warmth into the day. it wasn’t just training; it was a conversation between the man and the ball. every leap, every balance, every touch was a defiance against the looming sky, a quiet declaration of persistence. this was his cathedral, the sand his field, and the game his prayer.
“There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me.

A skilled young lady imposes her will on a wave at Huntington Beach, California. Huntington Beach is also known as Surf City, USA and the US Open of Surfing is held there each July. The town is located about 36 miles south from downtown Los Angles and while it is a beautiful retreat today, the internet has photos of the beach littered with oil wells during the not too distant past.
I've seen photographers on the beach with tripods and long lenses. This photo was captured from the pier with a hand held 70-200 at 200 mm. It is cropped pretty heavily though.

This is the 2nd in my stories of Aldeburgh mini project. An empty beach and a lady determined to do her thing. I did like the offset position of the lady to the dip in the shingle.

Have shown this image before but blowing my own trumpet a bit here. Just learnt that this shot has won a special award in the New Shoots category of The International Garden Photographer of the Year. Well chuffed :)
No graphics please.
Women’s barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to complete a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time. The event tests both the athletic ability of the horse and the horsemanship skills of the rider. Here’s a shot of one competitor at last week's Super Kicker Rodeo during the Oakland County Fair in Davisburg, Michigan.

Papyrus - The coolest skeleton around (as evidence by his shirt).
I'm not sure whether or not I'll be making any more figures from this game, but if you want me to, let me know and I'll consider it more.
As the tram rushed past, I managed to capture a figure waiting for the next one. In the past I would have deleted shots like this. Now I like the effect it delivers.

Our Harvest Fest was a great big hit with our backyard visitors.
This little Chipmunk was determined to stuff that pecan into his mouth - but eventually faced the fact not everything can be stuffed into those cheeks.
For all I know these are probably the first pecans, walnuts and almonds he's ever seen but that didn't keep him from collecting everything he could find. I can only imagine what's been crammed into those tunnels of his. Miles and piles of assorted nuts!
