I was watching this male Downy woodpecker during a snow squall. It was determined to keep hanging onto a lilac branch, waiting to fly up to the suet feeder underneath my porch awning.
Thanks everyone for your views, awards, comments, invites and faves.

At a Culzean Country Park, today. This wee guy kept trying to get piece of coconut from a shell, hanging on a tree. He was very wary of me, but was obviously quite hungry. He kept appearing, then flying off, before getting something to eat. Here, he eventually grabbed a piece and I was lucky enough to snap him before he swooped away, again.

Genius And Power
~Orison Swett Marden~
There is genius and power in persistence.
It conquers all opposers;
It gives confidence;
It annihilates obstacles.
Everybody believes in the determined man.
People know that when he undertakes a thing,
The battle is half won,
For his rule is to accomplish ...
whatever he sets out to do.

These towers stand 250 to 300 feet above the desert floor. They are incredible all on their own. Even more so with a star filled sky.
Art lifts our spirits and reaches our soul. Artists define the character of our communities. Social distancing may keep us away from one another this holiday season, but we can still stay close. This is (now) my local crag, and the place my dear old Dad first took me climbing 14 years ago. I often pop up for sunset because it's frustratingly hard to photograph, and I'm never happy with my images!
This made me laugh happy though. Incredible how far we've come in a matter of months:

Taking back control and getting rid of all that red tape, eh? 😆 Happy weekend!
Watching this bee jump from flower to flower it was determined to find just what exactly suited its taste. When the seasons pass so quickly this is one small thing that I will miss. “Determination” drives this bee to exactly what it wants, as will my determination keep me patient to repeat this very photo-op next Summer. Thanks for viewing my work. Be grateful and kind.

This day started beautiful but turned quickly as things can do in the desert. I had the drone up circling the towers and felt a small smack on my forehead. No it wasn't Bea, it was hail. I quickly got the drone in luckily had this shot already taken. We went back with our tails between our legs. Thanks for looking at my ridiculous attempts at professional photos!! Kris..
Busy as a Bee for sure. It may just start with determination to work hard for yourself and others who may also depend upon you. Having pride in what we do and how we perform our duties can be a reflection on how we see ourselves and how we learned some of life’s more important lessons. Always doing our best in whatever it is we do is like putting our personal signature on our accomplishments. Do your best, stand tall and be proud. Thanks for viewing my work. Stay safe and stay determined.
As I was on my way to work, a crow kept on attacking me for no apparent reason at all.
They say that if this happens, a crow’s nest is most probably near by. Well, that’s the determination to protect I saw that day even though I’m not doing anything wrong.
This piece is the first one I draw in Washington and it is based on Mr. Lorcan Keating’s photography as I obviously cannot sketch while I’m being attacked ;)

This cowboy is determined to stay on this bucking bronco for the required 8 seconds to qualify for prize money and a belt buckle. Unfortunately, he did not make it. Taken at the Russian River Rodeo

This Kestrel wasn't going to give up easily
But neither was the owl
Transferring the hapless vole to it's mouth (releasing its claws for offensive/defensive duties) the aerial dogfight continued
That look of determination on the owls face telling you all you needed to know... he wasn't going to give up his well earned lunch without a fight!

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
today we generally consider all the african rhinos as "big five".
but when the english hunters made the list they thought the most dangerous animals to hunt on foot.
the bigger and most powerful white rhino wasnt in the original list.
this is because he is less aggressive as except humans an adult white rhino has no enemies.they are used also to live in groups ,totally out of range for a lion pride.
but the black rhino (diceros bicornis) is a solitary animal and much smaller (average weight 900/1500kgs Vs white rhino 1600/3000kgs) so in exceptional cases it can be attacked from very hungry and desperate lions.
but nature has compensated blackie with great determination and aggressiveness.
this is why it is notorius for deadly attacks on humans and why was really feared by hunters.
they are also famous for many charges to the vehicles.
here the rhino is tracking us and you can see the ears pointing on our car...this is a first stage that can prelude a second one,the beat of the hooves to the ground.
in this second case you have to run away!! if not too late:-)
today black rhinos are facing the extinction because of poaching but as long as they treads the soil of Africa we must have great respect,Blackie is a real big five!
