Only detailed Original Shivaji Maharaj painting known.

It showcases the ture personality of Maharaj, unlike the Tiger trearing, half tiger-half man face or a arrogant looking face that artists with cheap taste depicts in their artwork..

The eyes make it easy to see how he could be the caring king who was devoted to his subjects.

This was painted by a visiting Dutch Painter , Unfortunately i don't remember the name of the painter. But will update it as soon as i know.

PS: the copyrights for this artwork are not known. I will update the space if i know of it..

crop image of the Lady for much detailed look ,Joroan , Albay Province

from wikipilipinas

It all began on a certain day when Dacoba was clearing the land which he was tilling. He cut a calpe tree, which is use as firewood. However, he was surprise because even many hours that passed by, the tree was still as fresh as it was before; its leaves did not wilt. He informed his landlord about it. That landlord was Don Arcilla of Buhi who then consulted the pastor of Buhi of what could be done with it. The friar pastor of Buhi summoned as sculptor named Bagacumba. Out of the tree, he was able to carve three statuettes-Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, San Antonio de Padua, and Nuestra Señora de Solidad—now in Brgy. Joroan of Tiwi, and in the poblacion and Brgy. Tambo both of Buhi, respectively.

The Joroan known in Albay, was separated from Buhi. So, the image of the Salvacion likewise separated from Buhi and no chance to become a part of Tiwi.

In 1805, a strong typhoon hit the area where a small simple shrine was built to shelter the image. So they moved the image temporarily to Tiwi until such time that the place reconstructed completely. But the devotion to the Virgin were established in Tiwi. Conflict rises between to devotees, one Joroan and the other was the Tiwi devotees.

In 1918, an assembly was conducted with the participation of the members. They agreed to turn Joroan into another parish and built a new shrine to a sixteen-hectare land. When the it was completely constructed in September 15, 1919. The image was finally returned to Joroan on November in the same year.

[edit] Description

Our Lady of Salvacion describes as the Virgin carrying Jesus in Her left arm, the serpent's head is crushed under the feet, and Her right hand hold a man, an angel in kneeling position. The Child Jesus holds in his right hand a burning heart.

[edit] Apparitions and Miracles

When the Muslims attacked Joroans and planned to burn their houses, but each time, the torch would not ignite.

On the second attempt, they chanced upon Hermana Tiray, the holder of the image, and took her captive back to Mindanao. Because she was tired she went into a deep sleep, and when she came to, she saw a white deer and followed it, until she lost track of it. she found herself back in Albay. She spent throughout her life serving the Virgin.

Three devotees from the Region of Catanduanes went on a pilgrimage to Joroan, they bring along with them a set of candles in their boat. Upon reaching the shore, two of them decided to detour to Buhi and light candles for St. Anthony, while the other was left to guard the boat. A woman carrying a child approached the man and asked for a candle to light her way. The man refused because the candle was not his. The lady insisted and promised that she would return the candle in the morning if he would come to her house uphill. The man get her address and gave her one. She lighted the candle and walked away. On the next day, the man went to the address were the lady gave him but to his surprised he saw the candle on the on the foot of the image unlighted and unused.

Our Lady of Salvation was remarked from saving the town of Albay from the Muslim pirates. After that, Hermana Mayor, Doña Clara de Vera set to construct a new shrine. Don Manuel Casa, a Manileño and an architect volunteered for his service. But he is suffering from paralyzing disease. When he came to the cite he saw that a church was his task. As he started to work, he began feeling much better and when he was done with it, he was completely cured.

[edit] Veneration

Every year, during the month of August until September, devotees from all over the Bicol Region, visit the shrine. The last Saturday of August, is traditionally held as a special day of pilgrimage. During the evening of the last Friday, devotees in buses and jeepneys from other provinces of Bicol are coming. In the morning, they walk in procession from the St. Lawrence Parish Church to Shrine.

"From the beginning, it was the snowlfakes that fascinated me most"

Dubbed as “Snowflake”, Wilson Alwyn Bentley (1865-1931) was a pioneer in snowflake photomicrography. As a child he was fascinated by the natural world, and by the age of 19 he became the first to successfully capture a snowflake photograph with the help of a feather, a microscope and a camera. Bentley photographed thousands of individual snow crystals during his career, some of which we are showcasing in this Public Domain collection. The following is a detailed report by Andrew Hart, who led a group of us on a day trip SE of Calgary on 15 March 2014. Adding it mainly as a reminder for myself. My photo shows just a tiny part of the Starling murmuration of up to 10,000 birds that we were lucky enough to witness along one of the backroads. As you can see, some fields were bare of snow, though others still had a good covering of the white stuff.

"A beautiful spring morning. Temperatures rising from about zero to plus 10 deg C. Sunny all day and gentle breezes at most. Fourteen people showed up to enjoy this. The birds must have thought so too, because migration seems to have got a kick start today.

We started at the main entrance to Frank Lake, we walked down to the outfall and then swung back around the blind back to the gate.

On this swing we saw:

Canada Goose 2000

Tundra Swan 4

American Wigeon 3

Mallard 750

Northern Pintail 2000

Lesser Scaup 3

Common Goldeneye 100

Common Merganser 2

Bald Eagle 3

California Gull 60

Horned Lark 3

European Starling 500

The Canada Geese were mostly on the ground, in a wide arc stretching from the outfall anti clockwise to the left of the blind. The four Tundra Swans touched down on open water near the outfall, swam around for about ten minutes, and then flew away. The Pintails were more intruiging. When we arrived there were only 20-30 mostly on the ice near the outfall. But in the two hours we were in the area continual successive groups ranging in size from 20-30 to 150+ kept flying either in or by. If we counted every sighting I would have reported 5000 plus, but we think we saw some of them more than once (but hard to really be sure).

After a lunch break we drove on a long circuit of the area ending up at the Basin 3 carpark. We saw:

Canada Goose 300

Mallard 20

Bald Eagle 1

Great Horned Owl 4

Merlin 1

Black-billed Magpie 1

Common Raven 3

Horned Lark 6

European Starling 10,000

All of the Great Horned Owls were on nests. We first saw the Starlings when we noticed a black cloud swirling around in and above the field in the corner of Township 184 and RR281. Closer inspection revealed almost countless numbers of Starlings swarming around. They settled in the field (becoming almost invisible) then rose up and flew around. We suspect that at any time we were watching there were at least as many hidden in the stubble as we could see flying around. One of the transmission towers and several bushes were almost dripping Starlings. Various people in the group estimated 5000 plus, 10,000 plus and "10,000 is a very conservative number".

We left, and following a hot tip from Anne Elliott (about the Eurasian Collared Doves) stopped in at Blackie on our way back to Calgary. There we saw:

Rock Pigeon 24

European Starling 50

Eurasian Collared-Dove 6

Downy Woodpecker 2

Black-billed Magpie 2

Black-capped Chickadee 8

House Sparrow 12

A fallen leave on a bench near the TUM in Munich.

After detailed research and a prolonged hunt, US Army WT85 was located at Gosford N.S.W. in October 2015.

'US Army WT85' - 'Protrude'/'Koolya' was a 45ft WW2 US Army wooden towboat.

Earlier vessel history can be viewed HERE

After several years of researchers trying to locate the Protrude it was with some considerable jubilation when we walked onto Gosford breakwall on 24th October 2015 and finally set eyes on this elusive but tough little boat.

From a historical perspective this vessel has assumed immense significance to the community of Tuncurry NSW.

US Army WT 85 is the last vessel still in service that was built by Wright Shipyards of Tuncurry NSW, one of Australia's leading wooden shipbuilding firms from the mid 1870's till the mid 1950's.

Wright Shipyards commenced building ships in 1867 with the construction of the schooner Caledonia by company founder, John Wright, and Alexander Croll at Boolambayte Creek near Bungwahl NSW. Wright moved to Tuncurry in 1875 and established shipyards and sawmilling operations. He was the first white settler in Tuncurry with John Wright's son Ernest, the first non-indigenous child born in Tuncurry, taking over the shipyards following the death of his father in 1910.

After the United States declared war in December 1941, the US Army let contracts to various shipyards across Australia to build specialized vessels for the war effort. With construction of steel ships by this time more dominant these wooden towboat contracts were a lifeline to the struggling shipbuilding firm with Wright Shipyards securing a contract to build 45', 66' and 85' wooden boats with five 45' boats similar to the US Army WT 85 pictured above built and launched by Wright Shipyards in the period 1943-44.

This vessel, US Army WT 85, later known Koolya and later still Protrude, was most likely launched on 7th July 1944 and taken out over the Tuncurry - Forster bar by the harbour boat, Eldorado on 24th July 1944 where it was handed over to US Army WT 68 to be towed to Sydney or Newcastle for its final fit out. The Eldorado was a fishing boat owned by Jimmy Nicholson and was appointed as the port duty boat during the war years.

US Army WT 85 is the last of the five WT 85 Class tow boats built by Ernest Wright Shipyards to be still afloat and, more significantly, possibly the last surviving Wright Shipyards built boat. The vessel is currently undergoing restoration by Matt Palmer (2020) and is moored in Pittwater.

In January (tbc) 2013 the vessel, then moored in Blackwall Bay near Ettalong, sank on its mooring.

A salvage company successfully refloated the US Army WT 85 (Protrude) and it was moved to Gosford Breakwall where it remained until attempts were made to restore her.

Wright Shipyards became quite busy fulfilling shipbuilding contracts during WW 2 and this continued into 1946 when Ernest Wright commenced construction of what was to become the shipping company's last major vessel, the Santa Cruz/Norfolk Whaler (120 ft long & 2017.5 gross tons).

Unfortunately Ernest Wright did not live to see his company's last major vessel launched, passing away in that year.

A lingering eight years after construction had commenced, Ernest's son John Wright Junior, finally launched the Santa Cruz/Norfolk Whaler in 1954; with the viability of the shipyards by now in question he closed the shipyards shortly after - thus ending a proud 87 year Wright family shipbuilding dynasty in Tuncurry NSW.

Among many other achievements, the company achieving the record for building the largest wooden ship in NSW to ever see service. That vessel was the Uralba (154.8 ft & 603 gross tons) which was launched at Tuncurry in September 1941.

While the US Army WT 85 - Protrude may not have been a vessel of the huge size of the 'Uralba' its significance is nevertheless historically important as it reflects the massive contribution made to the war effort and the fact that it is the last floating operational vessel built by the Wrights.

The Tuncurry community may hopefully one day see the last surviving remnant of a once proud shipbuilding tradition returned to its birthplace.

Detailed photos of the Disney Film collection Belle Doll, from the live action Beauty and the Beast film. She is 11.5 inches tall, has golden heels, is wearing a glittering yellow ball gown with satin under skirt and tulle petticoat. It is very full and floor length. She has the 2012 style Disney Princess body, with hinge jointed knees and ball jointed ankles. My doll came severely bow legged, so I put a clear rubber band around her knees to keep her legs together after deboxing.

I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed.
