Destiny is not a matter of chance; it's a matter of choice.
It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved

Not only did I kill one of my 680’s after this shot (light drizzly rain, what was I thinking?!), but Destiny the horse is no longer with us. 💔

Leaning out as far as she can, hoping she'll fall soon, so she can stop worrying about whether it will happen or not.

The one you have been waiting for is here, but you just don't know yet.
As I was staring down from the century-old mansion, I was eagerly waiting for people coming into my frame. Like the preceding image, Faith, this is another boring image that I need to get out from my system.
I was drawn into photojournalism late last year, especially the ones featuring in Time magazine about war, life and everything else that invoke emotion. I discovered that a powerful image didn't necessarily have to be colorful or dramatic. A powerful image that is real and can make people think and feel is a great image too. It also requires people with experience in order to accept its existence.

A nearly deserted beach, in Kingscliff, NSW. Lucky for me as there was no one to see me fumbling with my tripod. I was quite pleased to almost seem to have got the tripod figured out but when I downloaded my pictures there's my shadow (and my tripod's shadow) in most all of them :-(, oh well the waves have washed it away in this one. I'm grateful for any tips on avoiding that one.

For anybody into shooting ships in the London / Kent area Gravesend is worth a visit.
Of all the stories around the Maiden Tower (Kız kulesi), the tale of the girl placed here by her father to escape her fate seems the most popular. Of course, the snake still bit her... 😕
Some info from a guide site...which includes other legends about it.
www.greatistanbul.com/kizkulesi.html
"Kizkulesi is located off the coast of Salacak neighborhood in Üsküdar district, at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus. It literally means "Maiden's Tower" in Turkish. The name comes from a legend: the Byzantine emperor heard a prophecy telling him that his beloved daughter would die at the age of 18 by a snake. So he decided to put her in this tower built on a rock on the Bosphorus isolated from the land thus no snake could kill her. But she couldn't escape from her destiny after all, a snake hidden in a fruit basket brought from the city bit the princess and killed her."
I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless. It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same.
I love this quote from a movie. Destiny will arrive no matter how much we try to avoided or escape it.
Destiny...you can buy. Even luck...you can create. Miracles...though, are better than that. Special and rare, the happiness they bring is priceless. And precious. It's as amazing as that, isn't it? ^._.^
bird (narrator): "And that is when Ted knew..."
'Destiny, flying high above,
All I know is that you can...realize.
Destiny, who cares.
As it turns around,
And I know that it descends down on me.
It's just another day,
The shame is gone.
Hard to believe,
That I've let it go.'

Piratical Destiny: A man wearing heavy eye makeup and a buccaneer hat sits at a decorated table, intent on reading a deck of cards. My immediate reaction upon seeing a fortune teller dressed up like a Pirate of the Caribbean was a candid laugh. How can anyone take seriously someone who hides their total lack of credibility behind a street-fair costume? The deception is so massive that it becomes both ridiculous and metaphorical... Yet, the world is full of these overhyped characters who, convinced they are great and fearsome privateers capable of steering other people's courses and deciding their destinies in the dark, fail to realize they are just caricatures. And when the trick fades and the performance ends, the entire castle of illusions could very well crumble. This text ironizes solely on the photographed subject and the metaphor it represents. It takes nothing away from the wonderful Wine Heart of Levigliani festival, a masterfully organized event that deserves nothing but praise
