A few weeks ago I was tagged to show a screenshot of my desktop. For one reason or another, it was abnormally tidy. The above screenshot is a much more accurate version of my desktop.
During the workday, I want quick access to the gobs of PSDs and screenshots I'm constantly making. They're usually all for the same project, so there isn't much of a need to organize, and I like being able to thoughtlessly click on the same icon—the desktop—no matter what project I'm working on. When I'm done, everything is cleaned up and put in folders.
People sometimes make fun of my big desktop icons, but they're very handy for this particular type of organization, as is the plain desktop image.
As I have to watch "The Hour" online I decided to make an link to the WMX file and created my own Stroumboulopoulos icon. I also decided to use the "revolution" icon that RelevantMagazine.com provided for my 'to read' file.
On my desk (which used to be very untidy!!). Globe is etched glass, available on eBay. Photographed in summer morning light on a bed of yellow silk. 20th July 2008.
This my desktop at the mo, the system is running windows XP skinned using windows blinds 6.
