Make Something Cool Every Day is a personal, (ideally-) daily design exercise wherein I churn out type-centric black and white drabbles using song titles, the Univers type family (Kozuka Gothic for Japanese type) and some wonderful images from Wikimedia Commons.

Thursday showcased 5 Emerging Designers but the one that stuck in my mind the most was Tarien Mallebe Maveaf. The use of 1950's was very apparent and worked well with the collection. From the clothes and accessories used, Chanel and other top Fashion Houses were used as an inspiration here but the designer made it their own.
Oi gente...

Here the slip covers have been taken off, to reveal the dolls inside acrylic cases, with the Certificates of Authenticity visible through the backs of the cases.
My two Jasmine and Aladdin Doll Sets, from the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I actually only ordered one set online, but got a big surprise when I got home and saw two identical boxes waiting for me on my front porch. The boxes even had the same tracking numbers, and identical order numbers on the packing slips. I double checked my order, and only one doll and one bag are listed. Also my bank account only got charged for one set of dolls. One of them is number 899 of 6000, and the other is 4555 of 6000. The #4555 dolls are posed perfectly, just like the in box promo photos, so I've decided to leave that set alone, and debox #899. I consider them twins, even though they don't have sequential serial numbers, because they arrived at the same time, when I was only expecting one. This definitely more than makes up for the fact that I couldn't get the dolls in store, and had to wait a week to get them shipped to me.
