Half a year after meeting Oona and randomly choosing her to be my Stranger, I ran into her again, two days in a row :-)
It was so nice to catch up with her and listen to her new, inspiring projects.
LIVE LAUGH and LOVE is good, but LIVE LAUGH and SEX is much better! Sex appeal at its greatest. Original Black Scoge Snap-Back cap with white emboriodered text. Red visor.
Fairytale Designer Cinderella and Lady Tremaine have been deboxed, and reposed in their original display case. They are standing sided by side, supported by the built-in display stands. I decided to leave Cinderella's skirt pinned together into pleats in the front, and leave Lucifer tied to Lady Tremaine's arm by rubber bands.

#2287 of 6000
Detailed photos of the Cinderella and Lady Tremaine DFDC limited edition doll set that I bought on the release day (September 6, 2016) from my local Disney Store. There were only about 10 people who entered the raffle for the 18 doll sets available. My set is numbered #2287 of 6000. I didn't see any significant flaws when I inspected the set at the register. I didn't get a gift bag when I bought the set, but returned the next day and they gave me one. The set is still available online, and in some stores as of Friday September 9.
Cinderella does have teeth in her face mold. They are painted over to give the illusion of a closed mouth. But at the angle that her head is positioned, it is hard to see the painted over teeth, and the illusion is very convincing.
Cinderella is wearing dark pink high heels with articulated ankles. She has blemish on her cheek that looks like hair product that spilled onto her face. So I was able to wash it off when I took the cover off the display case. Her hair is stiff with hair product, so I decided to leave her hair alone after deboxing, even though it looks a bit messy, and some of her hair curls around her neck.
When I deboxed Lady Tremaine, I unpinned her skirt so it's much fuller. I also unpinned her scarf so it falls freely from her head. It is sewn to her hair. I left Cindy's skirt pinned together in the front (so it looks pleated), but I may free it later.
This is my favorite set in this year's Designer Collection, and has been since I first saw images of it. Cinderella looks even more beautiful in person than in photos. I love her hair color and her face. Lady Tremaine's outfit is outstanding, and is much better than the one on the 17 inch Limited Edition Lady Tremaine from 2012.

Made with Image Creator from Microsoft Designer, formerly known as the Bing Image Creator. Powered by DALL·E 3.
I think that AI image generation is similar in many ways to photography. The camera itself handles all the fine details, but the photographer is in charge of curating the types of images that will be created.
Ultimately, it is all about maximizing the probability that something good will be created.
This is very similar to AI image generation, in terms of the skills involved and what the human does vs. what the machine does.
You can't compare AI image generation to the process of actually making these images from scratch with 3D software or paint/pencils, where the human controls every detail.
However, I think the process really is very similar to that of photography, as I made the case for above. I think that DALL-E 3 is by far the most powerful AI image generation tool currently available.

The Designer Spotlight (held on Jan 28) is an open-house style event, presented a few months before the annual KPU fashion show, as an opportunity for industry and media to connect with graduating designers.
The event gives potential industry employers a chance to meet emerging designers, ahead of their graduation, before they begin to explore employment opportunities.
This year, guests had a unique opportunity to view student portfolios, displays, fabric swatches and colour palettes that conveyed the in-depth research, business planning and design thinking that is going into developing the thesis-level collections that will be presented at the upcoming year-end fashion shows (April 6th & 7th).
Featured collections will include seasonless apparel for those who live a genderless or non-binary lifestyle; clean and effortless eveningwear that encourages considered buying; menswear that combines formal and casual business wear using technical elements for function and comfort; clothing based on the philosophy of slowness and the principals of wabi-sabi; luxurious evening gowns that fuse local art with fashion; and surfing apparel for west coast women utilizing sewfree technology and soft circuitry.

I was a bit out of focus, but the facial expressions saved this shot from going into the delete bin.

The ocean has so much character - a different mood every day. For this design, I tried to capture the vastness and intensity of rolling waves during a storm. The well-defined lines of the waves were inspired by Japanese woodblock prints.
