Earlier in September, 20 designLAB Students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy occupied Mediamatic to “Cook the Kitchen.” During the course of this evening they presented their recipes, tutorials and material samples in the format of a cooking show.

Our last major construction project for the new Design Lab is a 13-foot long workbench. We're building it in three sections — two four-foot by two-foot sections, and a five-foot long section in the middle. The vise here will be on that five-foot long section.
We're still debating between peg-board and French cleat for hanging tools. Any opinions one way or the other?
The kids who played with my game found that the pieces were the right size for their hands on the chess board. The Hnefatafl pieces on the lower left are too small, and they don't know the game, but that was sort of likely to happen.
