Ursprünglich diente die spanische Wand in China als Windschutz. Erste gefundene Exemplare stammen bereits aus der Han-Dynastie (206 v. Chr. bis 220 n. Chr.).
Heute gehört die spanische Wand zum Designelement der modernen Inneneinrichtung.

Two ladies dressed in red walking down a corridor in the Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I didn't have much time to shoot this photograph. I noticed the women dressed in red out of the corner of my eye and by time I turned around they had already walked past me. This was the only shot I was able to get off.

Carrosserie Worblaufen, F. Ramseier & Co. ist der Name einer schweizerischen Karosseriebaufirma mit Sitz in Worblaufen bei Bern von 1929 bis 1958. Das Unternehmen ist nicht identisch mit Carrosserie Ramseier in Bern und Biel.
Carosserie Worblaufen gehörte zu den führenden Anbietern des Landes für Sonderkarosserien für Luxusautomobile. Spezialität waren sportlich-elegante, offene Aufbauten.
Bekannt sind Worblaufen-Karosserien auf Fahrgestellen von Alfa Romeo, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti (Type 57 Grand RaidRoadster, Chassis Nr. 57260), Citroën, Delahaye (7 vom Type 135 wovon gemäss Swiss Car Register noch 5 existieren),Isotta-Fraschini, Jaguar, Lancia, Mercedes-Benz und Talbot-Lago.
Kurz nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg entstand ein interessantes viertüriges Cabriolet auf der Basis eines Packard Clipper Superoder Super Eight. Ramseier mischte dabei Designelemente beider Baureihen: Die Front war klar Packards 22. und 23. Serie (1948-1950) entlehnt, den Flanken fehlte aber deren durchgehende Gürtellinie. Stattdessen liefen die vorderen Kotflügel in den Türen aus und die hinteren waren abgesetzt und nicht verschalt, ähnlich dem Clipper der 19. und 20. Serie (1941-1947).
Im März 1950 zeigte Worblaufen ein Cabriolet auf dem Fahrgestell eines Bentley Mark VI auf dem Genfer Automobilsalon.
Als Folge des Wegfalls der Traditionshersteller, die Chassis für die Carrossiers bereitstellen konnten, war auch Carosserie Worblaufen, wie viele andere, gezwungen, aufzugeben.

Beautifuly detailed fern leaf illustrations from Ferns: British and Exotic (1856–1860) by the renowned botanist Edward Joseph Lowe (1825–1900). From a young age, Lowe was fascinated by meteorology and astronomy as well as having a great interest in ferns. This led to an extensive botanical study, resulting in eight illustrated volumes of Ferns: British and Exotic. We have digitally enhanced some of these incredible fern illustrations into high-resolution printable quality. They are free to download under the CC0 license.
