(Description from Tyneham website) Tyneham House, or ‘The Great House’ as it was more commonly known was the home of the Bonds. The Bond family owned Tyneham and as a result, much of the village life revolved around their grand family home. In it’s heyday Tyneham House was one of the most beautiful country houses in Dorset.
Orginally built in 1523, the three story Elizabethan mansion was set in beautiful grounds with immaculate lawns, lime trees, palms and other tropical plants that were able to survive in the humid micro-climate of the valley.
After the forced evacuation of Tyneham, Tyneham house was used to house members of the WAAF (Women’s Auxiliary Air Force) who were billeted there during the war. After the war it was boarded up and remained more or less intact up until the late 1960s. Some missing roof tiles the only real sign of neglect.
Sadly in the late 1960s most of the building was demolished and is now only a ruin in a part of the army ranges completely off limits to the public
Interesting part is that i wasn't really editing this photo, that amazing light behind the bulb was sparkles (fireworks) and picture is upsidedown 'cause bulb was hanged on a thread.
Description: A composite image of the Eagle Nebula (M16) with NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and the Hubble Space Telescope penetrates the dark columns of gas and dust to reveal how much star formation is happening there. The Chandra data (red, green, and blue represent low, medium, and high-energy X-rays respectively) show very few X-ray sources in the so-called "Pillars of Creation" themselves. This indicates that star formation peaked in this region several million years ago.
Creator/Photographer: Chandra X-ray Observatory
NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, which was launched and deployed by Space Shuttle Columbia on July 23, 1999, is the most sophisticated X-ray observatory built to date. The mirrors on Chandra are the largest, most precisely shaped and aligned, and smoothest mirrors ever constructed. Chandra is helping scientists better understand the hot, turbulent regions of space and answer fundamental questions about origin, evolution, and destiny of the Universe. The images Chandra makes are twenty-five times sharper than the best previous X-ray telescope. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., manages the Chandra program for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory controls Chandra science and flight operations from the Chandra X-ray Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Description: St. George Reef is a collection of exposed rocks and covered ledges lying about eight miles northwest of Crescent City. In July of 1865, the steam sidewheeler Brother Jonathan struck the reef and went down. Of the 244 people aboard, only nineteen managed to escape in a small craft.
You will not find many photographs of this lighthouse, simply due to its location (8 mi offshore). I've taken many shots as we approached the lighthouse, and continued shooting as we circled around it, and flew back to the coast-line.
note: I've been asked a few times about a much closer view of the lighthouse. I honestly have a few that are alot closer, but for some reason I liked this one alot. I will probably add a different angle sometime in the future.
Ughh. When I'm in a hurry my descriptions are bad. I was in a hurry to write something, and it ended up as if I was some high strung lady doing nothing but exclaiming things lol.
Anyways so I'm rewriting the descriptions. And oh my gosh...I hear fire works right now. There's some big event going on that I forgot all about! And there are fireworks...ughh I never got to use my DSLR on fireworks yet :(
Anyways, I couldn't decide what to edit and upload out of the whole bunch from the shoot. So that's why I called this "indecisive" yes....kinda dumb lol.
Anyways, I did such a crappy job with the liquify tool. My friend requested that I make her "thinner" so I did...but I'm not too good at it. I have barely used the liquify tool in my life! And now well, I kinda did a crappy job but oh wellll.
Anyways!

You wake up from your epic dream and realize that the image of the glass pyramid-like small spaceship you saw is actually just an exit from the underground parking garage elevator on Westerlaan in the wonder city of Rotterdam. These very modern parking spaces mainly belong to the head office of top company Vopak across the street. Vopak is the absolute world market leader in tank storage and has an annual turnover of more than a billion. The innovative parking garage is located under 'the Park' of Rotterdam, where the Euromast tower is also located.

I had fun on this shoot, so many angles and compositions in these fascinating rocks. I used a 15 second exposure to capture movement in the water, catching quite a bit but not enough that it blurs totally smooth. The water was really crashing against the rocks, causing the rocks to shine a lot from being wet. I had to wipe my ND grad quite a bit as water kept on splashing from the rocks.

(Description from Tyneham website) St Mary’s Church is rather small compared to other churches in the county of Dorset, however it managed to serve the villagers of Tyneham quite adequately.
Built of limestone rubble and dating from the 13th Century, the South transept was rebuilt in the mid 19th century by the Reverand William Bond. Outside in the graveyard you can find memorials to the Bond family of Tyneham House.
After the military took over Tyneham, the church was neglected and fell into disrepair. Some of the fittings were moved out to other places. For example, the bells and organ were moved to Steeple church and the Jacobean pulpit was moved to Lulworth Camp.
Today, Tyneham’s church has been restored and now serves two separate purposes. First and foremost it’s a museum of the village’s history. It contains many charts and displays, recording both the broad history and the minutiae of village life – there are documents, artifacts, time lines, old photographs and everything else you’d expect to find in a small town museum.
The second function of the church is to act as a sort of memorial shrine to the ‘idyllic life’ that the inhabitants had so unfairly taken away from them. The names of the villagers now line the inside walls and also grace a restored bible.
When the villagers left the for the last time, they pinned a note to the church door.
The note read:
“Please treat the church and houses with care; we have given up our homes where many of us lived for generations to help win the war to keep men free. We shall return one day and thank you for treating the village kindly.“

The catalogue description gives us "A woman and two men pushing and pulling a cart with a child on it along a cobblestone street, possibly in France, Rue de Riosspelk". Well you all know that we like to have a good foreign shot from time to time, what can you tell us about this cracking photo from the Dillons?
+++ UPDATE +++
Well, this was our very first photograph ever that featured a dog pulling a cart! Lovely that after all these years, we're still finding unexpected gems in our photos. derangedlemur and Niall McAuley weren't long in narrowing this “Out Foreign” Dillon family photograph to Belgium, then to Brussels. And with Sharon Corbet’s help, we found ourselves located on the Rue aux Laines.

Description:
The Ring Nebula (also catalogued as Messier 57, M57 or NGC 6720) is a planetary nebula in the mildly northern constellation of Lyra. Such nebulae are formed by a starburst – ionized gas has expelled into the surrounding interstellar medium by a star to form a vast luminous envelope containing the star in its last stages of its evolution before becoming a white dwarf.
This nebula was discovered by the French astronomer Charles Messier while searching for comets in late January 1779. Messier's report of his independent discovery of Comet Bode reached fellow French astronomer Antoine Darquier de Pellepoix two weeks later, who then independently rediscovered the nebula while following the comet. Darquier later reported that it was "...as large as Jupiter and resembles a planet which is fading" (which may have contributed to the use of the persistent "planetary nebula" terminology).

The day started with a cloudy morning and changed to clear blue skies by afternoon. As soon as I made my way to the Kuala Lumpur Tower that afternoon, dark clouds was slowly creeping to cover the skies over Kuala Lumpur. Though dark clouds was slowly covering the skies, Alhamdulillah the horizon was still showing the golden color of the sunset.

OKAY I have an idea and I want to know what everyone thinks SOOOOOOOO idk if anybody feels like me but I FEEL LIKE I CANT POST BAD ART ON FLICKR I just feel like BLEH XD
So the idea is WHAT IF I MAKE A GRUOP WHERE YOU POST THE ART THAT YOU WANNA POST BUT DONT WANNA POST idk like it’ll be titled *crapy art* or something
Like you can post a private pic and then put it in the group and we all just laugh at are crap and have a good time? but it’s not for like UGHZ IM BAD AT explaining
So this group is for the art that is hilariously bad that we don’t want to be taken seriously IDK HOW TO SAY IT UGH
So like sometimes I wanna post a drawing because I think it’s so bad it’s funny but I don’t want it in my stream SO this group will be where you can put all the funny art
And this group will not be for peeps that think they’re bad artist, it’s for everybody’s bad art that they did at 2 a.m. and stuff
OKAY IF YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT SAY IF YA’LL THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA OR JUST A BAD IDEA AND I SHOULD DELETE THS

Description: Barnard 150 (B150, LDN1082) dark nebula is a type of interstellar cloud that is so dense that it obscures the light from the background emission or reflection nebula or that it blocks out background stars. The extinction of the light is caused by interstellar dust grains located in the coldest, densest parts of larger molecular clouds. The form of such dark clouds is very irregular as they have no clearly defined outer boundaries and sometimes take on convoluted serpentine shapes. The largest dark nebulae are visible to the naked eye, appearing as dark patches against the brighter background of the Milky Way. In the inner regions of dark nebulae important events take place, such as the formation of stars and masers.
B150 is also known as the Seahorse Nebula. With a bit of imagination the dark nebula shown in the image above roughly outlines the shape of a seahorse with its head pointing downward as it floats in a sea of stars roughly 2 degrees wide in the northern sky. Alanboar is a very experienced brick model builder. He was invited by Tai O Heritage Hotel to visit and create a brick model base on the local fishing village Tai O, also known as "Venice of the Orient". Cheung uses nearly 20,000 pieces of bricks and spend two months' time to create this interesting scenery of Tai O. There are stilts houses and Tai O traditional Water Marriage and Dragon Boat Water Parade in the busy waterway. You can find many Tai O attractions including such as Tai O Bridge, Kwan Tai Temple, shrimp paste factory, General's Rock and Tai O Heritage Hotel on top on the mountain. With the mini figures on the street which makes this creation more attractive. Cheung also had a wonderful time with his son Ka Him while they created this model together.
