Description in English and Dutch:

I already uploaded photos of the Westduinpark in The Hague near Scheveningen. Wednesday I was in the same park, but then the part near Kijkduin. This is photo number 6 in the new series. It is an impressive dune area that runs approximately from Scheveningen harbor to Kijkduin. There are Scottish Highlanders in the protected nature reserve to control the vegetation and there is really a lot to see in terms of flora and fauna. It is a combination of dunes, open sand area and forest. It is very special there because dunes and forests alternate and sometimes merge into one another. On warm sunny days, a lot of women walk barefoot on the sandy areas, to experience the ultimate feeling of freedom. There are hiking trails as well as cycle paths and horse riding trails in the very interesting park. A lot of people are really impressed by the vegetation, bunkers from the Second World War, steep dune hills and the impressive viewpoints. The view at those points of the beach and the sea and on the other side the buildings of the city is truly phenomenal. Come there once and experience a invisible blanket of oasis and peace. You will imagine yourself in a kind of paradise where worries and problems do not exist and where the war of thoughts in everyone's head disappears like snow in the sun for a moment in time, because freedom is in each of us.

Description: Towards the end of the 14th century Vannes became one of the favourite residences of the Dukes of Brittany. The battlements were extended towards the port, doubling the area within the town walls.

Within the town walls many timber-frame houses can be found in the narrow streets surrounding the Cathedral, which was rebuilt from the 15th century onwards. This “wooden town” is complemented by a “stone town” dating from the classical period.

The other side of the coin.

I have to apologize for not being to involved on here much lately. My life has been crazy and busy. I have started another account (@NeverInfamous) that I have used in conjunction with with the start of a business associated with people photography.

Along with starting a business and chasing my dreams, I have fought hard to battle depression, PTSD, heartache, high blood pressure, and everyday stress. All this while working full time, taking classes off and on, researching, developing, training for a half marathon, and trying to hold together a growing family.

I want to thank all of my followers on here for your support the last year or so and I hope that you will continue to support me on my other account. Thanks for reading!

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "The Australian animals are even more interesting than that plants. This is the land of the marsupial or pouch bearer. There are more than one hundred different kinds of animals which have pouches on their bodies, in which they carry their young. Some of these animals are taller than a man, and some no bigger than your thumb. Some climb trees, and some gallop over the plains, and some spend more than half their time in the water.

The largest of the marsupials are the kangaroos, ranging in size from great gray fellows measuring more than seven feet from nose to tail down to the family dwarf, the kangaroo rat.

The red and gray kangaroos are hunted in most parts of Australia and killed by the thousands. Horses and dogs are bred for sport. The dogs are a sort of hound, very fierce and fleet of foot. The big kangaroo has enormous hind legs which send it flying along as though moved by steel springs. It can leap twenty to thirty feet at a jump, and it fairly gallops over the country."

The church of San Lorenzo in Turin. Also known as the Royal Church of San Lorenzo, because it was commissioned by the Savoys, royal family. It is located on the north-west side of the central Piazza Castello, between Via Palazzo di Città and Palazzo Chiablese, adjacent to the Piazzetta of the Royal Palace. The current Baroque structure was the work of Guarino Guarini, carried out between 1668 and 1687.

Description taken from Merlin bird app: "Uncommon, large, and spectacular bird of lowland tropical forest, mainly in wilder areas and not around human habitation. Most often seen soaring overhead in mid-late morning, often fairly high up with kettles of Black Vultures; rarely seen perched. Striking adult has a colorful head and neck, piercing white eyes, and mostly white plumage with a black trailing edge to the wings and tail. Immature is blackish overall and lacks the white wing markings of the smaller Black Vulture. Immature develops adult plumage over a few years with white appearing first on the belly and the underside of the wings." This picture was cropped significantly as the vulture was circling at high altitude. Costa Rica.

This description is for the "the one I really like. a singular experience" group. I've chosen to post this photo to the group because I think it's one of the best photos I've ever taken. It was a spur of the moment thing. I had taken my son and daughter to a park on Bellingham Bay in the late afternoon and they were both near the water looking for interesting rocks. I caught my son during that with the water behind him. I was thrilled with the photo and posted it to Flickr shortly afterward. My wife only saw it for the first time just a couple weeks ago, and she stopped what she was doing, approached the computer with a look of shock on her face. She stared at it for a moment and said, "You took that? You really took that? He's beautiful. It's perfect! It's just so... him!" Probably the best compliment I've gotten on a photo ever.

Aesthetically, what I really love about this image is the vague yin and yang with my son's silhouette and the dark part below balancing the bright part. Probably the best use of negative space in any of my photos.

When we think about a dream or a wish, we often think about money, health. But what about freedom? Liberty is not less important than health or happiness, just think for a moment, will we be more happy or healthy if we don say what we want, if we don't think what's really happening, if we don't act like we do, if we are not us? Will we enjoy life then? Don't let anybody or anything or yourself turns you into a fictional reality, we're not robots, we are the actions of our thoughts. We are free to be free. So if I could make a wish I would wish I never lost freedom.

Read the descriptions for the previous photos from this shoot...boy, time sure is funny, has a weird bounce to it now, reading about the 2008 election, looking at the comments where we were all optimistic and teary-eyed over Obama getting elected.

I can tell you, it felt like a new dawn, like things were going to be uniformly Better from here on out. Not perfect, of course, but Better. Like getting lost in the back roads, finally stumbling upon a road sign telling you how to get back to the highway.

Felt like we were coming out of the wilderness.

We sure were stupid!

At the time of this shoot, I'd only known Laura a few months, but could not get enough. Of shooting her, hanging out with her, talking photography, exploring the city.

Every shoot with her was a blast. Even this, which was really supposed to be about Carré, with Laura helping out...couldn't help but take a few snaps of her as well. Great light coming in through windows that were perfectly situated to give startling views of the afternoon sun, these turned out to be some of my all-time favorite shots. Polaroid from this shoot still has a place of prominence on the wall, despite it being, fuck, 14 years later.

Those were the days when it was all galavanting through my city, meeting new people all the time, still in a process of discovery with photos. Like with politics, everything felt possible, and headed in the right direction.

Unlike with politics, I actually Was headed in the right direction...

Flickr keeps stealing my description and tags. 4 times now!

Let's try this again. :P

I've been caught in an obsessive, *ahem*, I mean, creative whirlwind designing new dresses to add to the Hopeless Romantic series and putting the finishing touches on this little one, along with a few other projects I am dying to share with all of you! ^__^

I always wish I could be one of those incredible artists (and many friends here) who are able to present a constant steady flow of lovely things to share, while taking regular pictures, keeping in touch with everyone and still living the rest of their lives with family, friends, pets, exercise, errands, chores, business, etc. I am genuinely in awe of all of you! I really have tried, but I don't think I will ever be that person. I seem to go through phases and need large chunks of time to accomplish each part of this balance rather separately and become very quiet at times as well.

Maybe it's just different for everybody and that's ok, too.

I guess I just want you all to know, that even though I don't update or post comments regularly, I do care about you all and think of you quite often. <3

ps- also, I don't recommend spilling an entire glass of water on your open laptop... while it's on... or off either I guess. That doesn't do much to help with keeping in touch, either.

NGC 4631 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. Seen edge-on, it lies only 25 million light-years away and is about the same size as our galaxy - the Milky Way This galaxy's slightly distorted wedge shape gives it the appearance of a herring or a whale. NGC 4631 has a nearby companion -dwarf elliptical galaxy, NGC 4627 which can be seen just above the main galaxy.

So this morning I noticed these fallen Mexican Petunias (Ruellia brittoniana) on the glass patio table. They had fallen and dried to the glass. Being bleached by the sun. I was under the table ( thats a story for another time😂) and I looked up and I thought oh, reminds of Batik art. Then we had a little( I mean spit) of rain and they basically have liquified. But I thought even cooler… 😁 Enjoy a little foray into my head.. carry on… but scroll though

Description: This city letter carrier posed for a humorous photograph with a young boy in his mailbag. After parcel post service was introduced in 1913, at least two children were sent by the service. With stamps attached to their clothing, the children rode with railway and city carriers to their destination. The Postmaster General quickly issued a regulation forbidding the sending of children in the mail after hearing of those examples.

So I lied and I'm writing it now because Mr. Washing up can wait. c: Hullo everyone. How is your day going? It's been rainy today and then it randomly turned sunny so I ran outside like a running person and took some photos of the bamboo. :D While doing so, I spotted a heart-shaped leaf and these cobwebs so I just started playing with focus and bokeh and I don't mind this so here. Have it. With some burnt quiche. *cries*

On another note, I have so much to do.

And I am so lazy. Apologies for being so behind on so many's streams and fms. I will try.

Description of Buildings:

Gesu Church is a rectangular structure of structural steel, reinforced-concrete construction and features exterior walls covered with stucco.

An arcaded portico projects from the west façade of the church and is divided by four massive piers into three bays.

The piers and pilasters on the opposite wall rest

on cubical pedestals approximately nine feet high. A chamfered molding serves as a capital for each pier and is repeated, at the same level as a belt course

running completely around the building.

The central bay of the portico projects slightly, and its arch springs from two semi-engaged Doric columns, thus framing

the main entrance of the church.

Articulation of the west wall echoes the tripartite divisions of the portico with semicircular arched portals at each bay. Double doors of wood and glass are recessed within the portal and have dentilled transoms and cartouches above.

The north façade of the church features an elevated basement from which piers rise to the architrave above. Indented panels between the piers contain tall, semi-circular arched stained glass windows.

A tripartite tower complex embellishes the roof. The central tower which is square in plan, rises in a series of steps and contains a belfry with arched windows. Two hipped roof towers flank the central tower.

Gesu Rectory is located directly east of the church and is connected to it. This four story rectangular structure is of structural steel, reinforced concrete construction, and its exterior walls are covered with stucco. Its pedimented gable

roof is covered with Spanish tile.

The main entrance is located in the center bay of the north façade and features a double door with large lights. The majority of windows are three over one double

hung sash. Round arch windows grace the fourth floor.

Gesu School is located east of the rectory. The building is a five story rectangular structure of reinforced concrete construction covered with stucco. A flat roof with parapet tops the building and features a pediment above the main entrance.

The focal point of the building is a grand, three story portico on the north façade. Ionic columns support the portico and are repeated in pilasters separating each bay. The main entrance features a colossal semi-circular arch with double doors.

The Fathers of the Society of Jesus have been instrumental in the establishment of Gesù Catholic Church from its inception. Gesù Parish was established as a result of the large Catholic community present in Miami. The original wooden church was built on land donated by Henry Flagler, and as Miami began to grow the need for a larger Church became a necessity. In 1921, the first cornerstone of this concrete and steel structure was laid to suit the needs of the growing Catholic community in Miami

Through the years, Gesù has been a spiritual ambassador to Catholics living in South Florida. It has taken on many roles aside from being a Church. For more than 75 years, Gesù Church started Gesù School which provided elementary and high school education. The school was run by the Sisters of St. Joseph

In addition, the Centro Hispano Católico at Gesù assisted Cuban refugees and refugees from other Central American countries with basic needs and helped with assimilation into a foreign country. From 1959-1982, the Centro Hispano Católico provided refugees with food, clothes, medical care, jobs, housing, daycare, school tuition, English classes, and immigration assistance. In 1962, Gesù served as headquarters to the Pedro Pan operation which bought more than 14,000 unaccompanied children from Communist Cuba

In September 1961, Gesù housed Belén Jesuit Preparatory School for a year and a half. After being exiled from Cuba, Jesuit Priests opened a school for refugee students who were living in Miami. This was the beginning of Belén Jesuit in South Florida.

Today, Gesù Catholic Church remains the spiritual center of downtown Miami. As the oldest church in South Florida, Gesù invites all to visit this historic landmark that has been serving South Florida’s Catholic community for nearly 120 years.

The red squirrel, the original 'Squirrel Nutkin' of Beatrix Potter fame, is one of our favourite British mammals but it is declining in numbers and classified as an endangered species. The reason for its disappearance from most of its old deciduous woodland homes is largely down to the North American 'grey squirrel' (population 2million) that carries the virus parapox, deadly to our native red squirrels. The slightly larger grey squirrel also directly competes with red squirrels for food and nesting sites. Photo taken near Blairgowrie Scotland

Description: A composite image of the Eagle Nebula (M16) with NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and the Hubble Space Telescope penetrates the dark columns of gas and dust to reveal how much star formation is happening there. The Chandra data (red, green, and blue represent low, medium, and high-energy X-rays respectively) show very few X-ray sources in the so-called "Pillars of Creation" themselves. This indicates that star formation peaked in this region several million years ago.

Creator/Photographer: Chandra X-ray Observatory

NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, which was launched and deployed by Space Shuttle Columbia on July 23, 1999, is the most sophisticated X-ray observatory built to date. The mirrors on Chandra are the largest, most precisely shaped and aligned, and smoothest mirrors ever constructed. Chandra is helping scientists better understand the hot, turbulent regions of space and answer fundamental questions about origin, evolution, and destiny of the Universe. The images Chandra makes are twenty-five times sharper than the best previous X-ray telescope. Description: St. George Reef is a collection of exposed rocks and covered ledges lying about eight miles northwest of Crescent City. In July of 1865, the steam sidewheeler Brother Jonathan struck the reef and went down. Of the 244 people aboard, only nineteen managed to escape in a small craft.

You will not find many photographs of this lighthouse, simply due to its location (8 mi offshore). I've taken many shots as we approached the lighthouse, and continued shooting as we circled around it, and flew back to the coast-line.

note: I've been asked a few times about a much closer view of the lighthouse. I honestly have a few that are alot closer, but for some reason I liked this one alot. I will probably add a different angle sometime in the future.

Ughh. When I'm in a hurry my descriptions are bad. I was in a hurry to write something, and it ended up as if I was some high strung lady doing nothing but exclaiming things lol.

Anyways so I'm rewriting the descriptions. And oh my gosh...I hear fire works right now. There's some big event going on that I forgot all about! And there are fireworks...ughh I never got to use my DSLR on fireworks yet :(

Anyways, I couldn't decide what to edit and upload out of the whole bunch from the shoot. So that's why I called this "indecisive" yes....kinda dumb lol.

Anyways, I did such a crappy job with the liquify tool. My friend requested that I make her "thinner" so I did...but I'm not too good at it. I have barely used the liquify tool in my life! And now well, I kinda did a crappy job but oh wellll.

Anyways!
