Istanbul, Turkey. Detail of ruins on display in the garden of Hagia Sophia.

I used a slow shutter speed to show the movement of the horses. Luckily the man stayed still long enough so he is clear and still against the moving carousel.

Archery in the Wye Valley. A shot inspired by one of Ben's photos, but it meets the brief!

3 stages of the Polaroid Miniportrait era.

From wikipedia:

The depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears acceptably sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions.

''Her eyes were a flat grey. No depth, no emotions lurking behind the slick layer of moisture. Just matte greyness. Death.''

I saw only once in my life a #SunDog, a small yet amazing part. It usually goes with a #halo (we see halo here) Read en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dogs. The Hepworth Prize for Sculpture exhibits were throughout the gallery.

The golden copies of camera lenses looked much like satellites against the blue backdrop, which was magnetic and the 'stars' were actually pennies !

The Aslan Pasha Mosque seen in the distance from Nisi, the island in lake Pamvotis, Ioannina, Epirus, Greece. The mosque built in 1618 at the location of the church of St. John, sealed the Ottoman rule after the failed revolution of Dionysius the Philosopher in 1611. It retained its function after the liberation of the city in 1913, serving the muslim minority of Ioannina until the population exchange in 1924 following the end of Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922). Since 1933 it houses the Municipal Ethnographic Museum. Its minaret, which is broken in this photo, was damaged in September of 2018 from a medicane (Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone) and its repair has been completed in August 2019.

I chose this image because i utilized creative light sources to create this image, and like the others, the background was breathtaking.

Looks scary, doesn't it? It's a 3000 year old water well around which the house at Dar Al Hajar (see below) in Yemen is built. The well goes all the way inside the house from the deep depths up to the high floors, passing through the rooms and the kitchens. The lighting is natural and this is a hand-held shot. It was quite fascinating to look down. BUT...where did the water go?

this was taken on my first proper shoot.

Because the fence is closer it's blurry, and I wanted to focus more on the city.

The goal of this image was to capture some frozen water drops against moving water. This was helped by the stillness of the stone walls.
