Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1.2 zm

New post | depth | From my photo class. Learning about how depth can be shown in ways other than the traditional ‘leading perspective lines off into the the distance’. Here you’ve got objects close up, in the middle distance, and in the far background, giving the impression of three dimensions even though a photograph is, as always, flat. | www.very-simple.com/blog/2017/01/27/depth/ | (live link to blog in bio)

I went benching with (V)oluntary (∀)mputation today. That is him off in the distance.

From my 10 minute photo walk today

Don't look down. Because it's all coming down anyway. Look up instead.

As always, your likes, comments and feedback are much appreciated.

I thought our backyard fence would make an interesting background. I also wanted to shoot photos of my moms flowers before fall is in full swing. I made the leaves more vivid by brightening the image.

Just playing around with my old manual f1.7 50mm lens. Although I did miss the focus on the tip a little I still like the DOF. Would much rather take some landscapes, but I'm stuck in the city so this will have to do.

Glen Esk, Autumn.

81 shots for this one. PTGUI and SNS-HDR Lite. Going for extreme depth of field by focus-stacking (it's not really focus-stacking, but re-focussing for each section of the panorama).

Images from our first East Coast Low (Cold water cyclone) for the year..

More depth of field goodness. Bar counter shot of wine glass at F1.2.

June 16, 2013.

Shot with Holga 120N on Shanghai GP3 100 film, expiry date March, 2013. Developed in Fomadon R09 ("Rodinal" clone), 1+50 solution, for 18 minutes, 20 seconds water rinse and 6 minutes fix. Developing minutiae: 15 seconds every minute for the first 3 minutes, then 15 seconds of inversions every 3 minutes. – View at least large.

I chose to use a shallow depth of field vs a deep depth of field in order to isolate the pillars from the rest of its surroundings.
