For week 31 of 52 of 2012... I've revisited a subject I've used a couple of times before..
The beach in the town where I live, Bray, has a mile long Victorian promenade. Hugely popular with locals and tourists, you will always find someone walking along it no matter what time of the day, or night, that it is.
At the moment, our summer festival is still in full swing and the beach is host to a funfair with lots of rides and stalls.. I took this shot on Wednesday evening on a walk with the girls and the dogs..
I love the depth of focus of the railings.. but trying to get them without a myriad of people in the shot is not easy! This couple happened to walk in to one of my "People'less" shots.. but I think they add rather than take away from it in the end!
This flower pot has been with us for the last 12 years and I think we've given it so much love that it's still quite fresh and alive. (no it's not artificial I swear)
......
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me

"Corn field just outside Lichfield taken at dusk. I particularly like the spacing of the trees in the distance, they couldn't be more perfectly arranged"
Coming down is the best time to take pictures and when this vista was in front of us with this little overhang of rock sticking out we had to make one more stop. What the framing fails to capture is the depth of the shot. Where I'm standing is about a thousand-foot vertical drop on three sides.
There was a fairly large group of ladies stopped with us but, other than me, only one of them would dare go out here. (Anything for the shot!)
“Why do we have to spend our lives striving to be something that we would never want to be, if we only knew what we wanted? Why do we waste our time doing things which, if we only stopped to think about them, are just the opposite of what we were made for?”

Photoshoot with Depth to promote their new EP Waiting for the Waves. Had an absolute blast on this shoot with the lads, it was a good laugh albeit incredibly windy!

Some days you have to walk through the sky to get to the mailbox.
The porch is enshrouded and the air is wet on your skin.
Some days the very same sky hangs just above the trees
creating a low ceiling that seems to box you in even more than the fog.
Some days the sky is white with consistent thin, high clouds.
Some days the sky is completely clear and the blue color of a ’65 Chevy pickup truck,
but stretched tight and flat high overhead.
They name crayons after this sky.
Some days the sky is round and clear and rich and so
deep that it is an ocean floating just above the house whose sandy floor is leagues above.
On these days you can simply let go with your feet and fall into the blue, stirring the wispy clouds, and look up at the earth and wonder what kept you there so long.
Shot this portrait and tried to capture the lane behind the model. It should have been more interesting when only the exit at the end was hightlighted. That's what I was trying to aim for. Still I'm not unhappy with the way it turned out. Contrast between the model and trees are just interesting enough.
Strobist info : shoot through umbrella right of the model.
Please leave comments, I'm willing to learn.
This is Tanya, I saw her having a chat outside with her friends.
Tanya was attending a monthly alternative evening at the venue just opposite this set of arches. It was rather fortuitous that I saw her, as I was originally waiting on the road above which tends to have more people traffic.
Thank you Tanya, for taking part in my project, I hope you had a good evening. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a copy for yourself.

was just playing around with my 50mm 1.8. I have not had it on the camera for quite some time so thought I would dust it off and have a play :) I miss this baby but its not as practical for me to use as a walk around these days.
I've always had great results with Acros & Rodinal but I haven't used Rodinal in years. I'm loving this newly acquired Nikkor-S 50mm f1.4 lens and the classic style it lends to the negatives.
Cracked open a fresh bottle of Rodinal and souped some new Acros II.
