another shoot today with Anthony, only a quick one though ^_^

this is a massive crop of the original >_<

I exhibited this at Salisbury Arts Centre Thursday 2nd October - Saturday 1st November 2008.

The print it's self is 30x30 cm, (35x35cm including the frame) and is from a limitied edition of 4. Conditions of the exhibition is for the work to be smaller than 40x40cm (including a frame) hence the small print.

Print is up for sale.

This tiny little moth, I assume it’s a moth, the size of my finger nail was resting on our outside wall late yesterday afternoon. Light was terrible to deal with as it had positioned itself in the worst possible position. By the time I had taken my 101 shots ( well, you know what I mean) I got just one as good as I could get. Not perfect by a long shot but a perfect demonstration, for good or bad depending on your objective of Depth of Field.

It seems to be two steps forward and one step back. I am holding onto hope and faith.

I sure do appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and kind words. You are such an encouraging community.

I like the way the tree lined canal curves into the distance. Such a great perspective. One of my favourite places on earth, Damme, Belgium.

I’m currently chasing after my daily work, but, as the days get shorter, it’s getting harder to have enough light.

For this project, I also have to filter the people more strictly. Usually, I never approach people phoning/texting/eating or people who seem busy. I never approach people in a group even if some stranger photographers consider it can be something good. I don’t like sunglasses. And now, I try to avoid tall/small people in order to have the same ratio for the internal frame (on a tall person, the internal frame will look very small). I also avoid people who are carrying something, because they will not know where to put their stuff when carrying the picture.

So, today, I met Daphné. Daphné is student in the theatre conservatory. She is quite friendly, with a large smile. At the first glance, she did not want to be part of my project because she don’t find herself photogenic. But she let me explain and then she accepted.

I’m pretty satisfied by the result !

Thank you Daphné !

I came up with this idea while trying to take something different. These Alien like statues are situated in South Shields, South Tyneside.

Like the last couple I snagged this shot of the Golden Gate bridge in October. However, this is an 15" exposure that captures the movement of the airplanes across the sky. I apologize for the terrible watermark, I was experimenting with different ones and in retrospect, that was not one of the better ones.

Daniel is retired and lives in Luc sur Mer, on the Normandy coast and in Paris. He worked in a company which rents equipment for public works. He loves Paris and its architecture, but loves less the Parisians, who are not as friendly as the Caennais (I agree of course ;)). He loves the Cafés, and he made a map with all the bars selling coffee for 1 euro. So he can go out and follow a circuit to drink coffees in different bars he likes, where he knows nice people.

His daughter lives in Lion sur Mer, that’s why he has a house not so far in Luc sur Mer.

It was a pretty nice meeting. Daniel is quite sympathic, and he really enjoyed talking about his life. He liked the concept of my project, talking with people you don’t know, exchanging… Yes, nice meeting.

Thank you Daniel !
