Flower of a terrestrial Dendrochilum on Mt. Redondo, Loreto, Dinagat Island. Found on ultramafic soils within "bonsai forest" (< 1 m high) at KROMINCO mining site.
Leaves and old inflorescences of an undescribed terrestrial Dendrochilum. Found here in stony ultramafic soil along the trail up Mt. Hamiguitan, Davao Oriental Province, Mindanao, Philippines. The orange spots on the leaves are presumably a rust.
This past February, thousands of people converged at the largest orchid show in the United States to celebrate the 64th Annual Pacific Orchid Exposition, themed for 2016 as “A Legacy of Orchids.”
The event, which took place February 26-28, 2016 at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, is the country’s premiere orchid show and featured over 150,000 orchids from around the world.
