A really small form of this species from the Philippines. The flowers are about 5 mm across on about a 6 cm inflorescence. I check with Jim Cootes, an authority on the Orchids of the Philippines, on the identity of this plant. His comment, "I cannot recall seeing a Dendrochilum cobbianum with flowers that small or an inflorescence that short. It is quite possible that the plant in question is from a different island or a different range of mountains. I have closely studied the flowers again and I am certain that it is Ddc. cobbianum."
Dendrochilum sp. An undescribed terrestrial(!) species from the ultramafic tabletop of Mt. Hamiguitan, Davao Oriental Province, Mindanao, Philippines. This species is abundant on the tableland, where the waist-high blooms tower over the dwarf heath vegetation.
