Yes, I know: Not everybody likes frames... but some pictures just demand for them... This was one of those....
They asked me to portrait them. Therefore, they deserve to be seen.

It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 as part of the Red Fort Complex.
So, this morning started out like any other morning....my son groaned about getting out of bed and demanded that I fix him pancakes or french toast. I went downstairs, began preheating the oven & got the girls' breakfast taken care of. I turned around to see my son standing in the doorway staring at me. I asked him if I could help him, he responded with "are you even fixing my french toast yet?? And i can't find my shoes." ..........
The morning goes on like this and finally, I got all 3 kids wrangled into the car and on our way to school. During the car ride, my son proceeded to tell me that he hates me and how terrible I am to him. Sigh. (If he only knew how much I love him and how I try every day to make his life better.) He ended up sitting quietly for the rest of the trip. I asked him before he got out of the car if he was ok....he didn't answer....I said, why aren't you speaking to me?? He said "don't you know that saying 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all'??" I said I knew of that and he said that it was better for him to keep quiet because he had nothing nice to say to me....then he got out of the car.
So, today's photo is me...keeping it together the best that I can at the moment. I'm sure that by this evening, I will have a smile and rebound nicely, like I always do. And then, it will start all over tomorrow.
We demand that people should be true to the pictures we have of them, no matter how repulsive those pictures may be: we prefer the true portrait in all its homogeneity, to one with a detail added which refuses to fit in.

Négombo (Sri Lanka) - J’ai demandé à mon chauffeur de tuk-tuk de m’emmener dans un quartier de pêcheurs. Finalement, il me dépose dans un secteur visiblement résidentiel avec de belles villas bien entretenues. C’est devant l’une d’entre-elles que j’ai fait cette photos d’enfants qui jouant dans la rue. Des enfants qui n’ont rien en commun avec les enfants de pêcheurs que j’ai pu rencontrer à travers le monde. Leurs vêtement et leur vélos laissent plutôt penser qu’ils appartiennent à la classe " moyenne-supérieure ". Renseignements pris, le chauffeur m’a déposé dans le secteur de armateurs.

Negombo (Sri Lanka) - I asked my tuk-tuk driver to take me to a fishing district. Finally, he drops me off in a visibly residential area with beautiful, well-maintained villas. That's where I took this picture of kids playing in the streets. Children who have nothing in common with the children of fishermen that I have met around the world. Their clothing and their bikes rather suggest that it belongs to the upper middle class ". Information received, the driver dropped me off in the shipowners' quarter.

I'm copying Davy and trying RAW; this is the first one. This was the best thing in my house to shoot! Now that really is sad!
I have zoomed in on this jpeg version (this one) and the processed RAW; it is stunning how much better the RAW image looks.

Return to the old factory. Nowadays, it is one of the most imposing and luxurious hotels in the city.
Il y a des jours où on se demande si ça valait la peine de mettre le nez dehors. Assis au pied de la pointe est du Parc en attendant que le couple de petits garrots se rapproche, un couple beaucoup plus gros décida d'amerrir presque sur les petits que j'avais à l’œil.
Bien entendu, ils décidèrent de plonger tandis que les deux bernaches bien dodues commencèrent à avancer doucement dans ma direction. Madame menait l'armada et semblait vraiment vouloir me déloger afin d'emprunter les quelques dalles de pierre sur lesquels mon séant était pourtant bien assis.
"Pas de ça Lizette" me dis-je étant arrivé le premier. Arès avoir dé-zoomer de 500m à 200mm et n'étant plus capable de focuser, il fallait bien se rendre à l'évidence....elles voulaient m'évincer.
J'ai quand même pu saisir quelques clichés bien nets et perlés d'eau avant de me résigner à lever le camp et laisser le couple venir brouter les quelques herbes qui venaient de voir le jour.
Comfortably seated at the Eastern end of the Park waiting for the Bufflehead couple to approach, a boisterous Canada Goose couple decided to "land" almost on top of them, sending them to scurry under water. The female led goose armada was heading straight in my direction. I guess they wanted to climb the few steps that were comfortably accommodating my behind. I was not exactly happy about having to dislodge that part of my anatomy for that anatidae, but after having had to de-zoom from 500mm to 200mm and not be able to even focus anymore, I decided to let the Royals have their way. Happily, I came away with a couple of sharp shots.

This was built as an entry for a contest run by KLUG. The brief demanded a craft fit to carry at least four minifigs in their quest to colonize the galaxy.
I played a bit loose with the rules with this scout transport that carries all the necessary supplies to set up a temporary base on some distant moon or planet before signaling to Rebel HQ for reinforcements.
The design is inspired by Rogue One concept art from @ryanchurchart for the U-wing. I’ve tried to present my LEGO version as it can be seen in the Art of Rogue One book compiled by @philszostaksf
I have to say thanks to Inthert as his U-wing instructions really jump started this project with the troop bay design.
Jake RF and his U-wing project really helped inform a lot of the wing structure on this thing too.

The demand was too much! After making 26 spaceships people are still asking for more!! So now I'm building special characters and numbers!!!
This was a super fun build because I didn't get to olive green in the first round of ships. I really liked playing with stickers again too!
Almost 10 years ago the Lego Star Wars fan site From Brick to Bothans ran the first alphabet starfighter contest. A little over a year ago, my 4 year old son and I started making our own alphabet starfighters inspired by that contest. As a thank you for all the support I've received and to celebrate finishing all 26 letters I'm having my own contest!
To enter all you have to do is build (out of Lego) OR draw your own original spaceship which has a design based on a letter of the alphabet. Post your design online and be sure to include the hashtag #abcstarfightercontest and my handle @davekaleta in the description. I will be reposting all the entries to my Instagram stories (with proper credit of course!) The contest will run from March 18th to May 9th.
Ten random entires will receive a free 1st edition poster of all 26 ships (approximate size 18" x 24") signed and numbered to 100. Additionally, a judging panel made up of my wife, my son and myself will pick the three entries we like best to also receive a free poster. You will need to provide a shipping address in order to be eligible to receive the prize.
