Title: Wimbeldon
It has always been a dream of mine to attend Wimbeldon and I was able to when I studied abroad in London! This was so special because my dad is a tennis fanatic and even played here at UNCC. I was able to FaceTime him while I was there and the sheer amazement in his eyes was unforgettable. I'm so happy I was able to experience this for him.

It is very impactful to me and I am reminded of her story every time I look at this photo.

The Moment It Hit Me
Sitting in Parliament Square Garden, I let it all sink in—the towering presence of Big Ben, the hum of London life around me, the realization that I had actually made it. Just yesterday, this was all a dream; today, it was my reality. This was the moment it truly hit me: I was in London, one of the greatest cities in the world.

On the street I stayed on in Rome, there was an older man who would carve out coins and turn them into necklaces. He was there every day, and we talked to him. He explained where all the coins came from and showed us his process. This moment was defining to me because the man's kindness and eagerness to tell us about his work, he had seen us everyday for the past month and we had seen him setting up every morning, it was a moment that made me gain a deeper understanding of the culture and form a small connection with a local in the city I was staying in.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, this is it. They say there are 5 stages of studying abroad. Excitment & optimism, disorientation, loneliness, homesickness, and acceptance & serenity. This night was the first night after battling loneliness and homesickness that I felt like home. I was invited to a painting party by two of my girlfriends from Eithopia. I was surrounded by their friends who all spoke French. I forced myself out of bed because this is all I had been praying for. I was able to practice my French and some people practiced their English. I went to the bathroom and walked in and looked around the room. I felt at peace and had to capture this moment. Moments like these is why studying abroad is such a beautiful experience. Meeting people from all different cultures and places. Coming together far from home to create something special for ourselves. This moment is why I will be continuing my masters in France. Push through the loneliness phase and I promise you will experience a moment like this too.

Nearly 80 years after the dropping of the atomic bomb known as "little boy," which resulted in the deaths of 140,000 human beings. The A-bomb dome remains as a reminder of the destruction caused by atomic weapons. Although Hiroshima was once a city of war and a staging ground for conquest, it has now been reformed into a beautiful city of peace which attracts 1.7 million visitors on average each year.
