Another aspect of Chrysanthemum, tightly packed, a true Autumn flower, built against rain, wind and cold?
The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)
Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae.
They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China.
Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.
The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century. There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.
For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration.
A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.

I was very lucky to spend some time at Mashpi Lodge, deep in Ecuador's extraordinary Chocó-Andean cloud forest, around 100 km northwest of Quito. It is a truly beautiful part of the world, with an incredible diversity of wildlife.
One of the highlights for me was spending time with the hummingbirds. They are absolutely stunning, but I hadn't quite appreciated just how much noise a group of hummingbirds makes. The constant buzzing and whirring of their wings is incredible!
I hope you like these little beauties as much as I do. 💚

Fragmented proximities - Up close, no one is normal, and we are all ordinary. Photography allows an approach that is both deep and superficial, concrete and fragmented. These pieces of everyday life are just glimpses of an investigation into everyday routine, an attempt to enter life, which perhaps only fragments it.

Walking in the countryside is good for my girls in so many ways. It gives them the opportunity to chat without any other distractions
Yesterday, deep in the Fall Creek Falls wilderness my good friend John and I had another fantastic adventure. With our early arrival at the trailhead we were able to work our way over to Pristine Falls well ahead of the sun and grab some most excellent Autumn captures. We were slightly concerned about the water levels, but some recent rain earlier in the week seemed to have made a difference as everything was close to perfect. :) -H3
In the language of flowers, the lily of the valley represents "deep love." The green of the leaves represents hope, while the white of the flowers expresses purity.

"Non ho bisogno di tempo
per sapere come sei:
conoscersi è luce improvvisa"
(Pedro Salinas)
