Nature consumes the pool outside the recreation center at the Air Force Radar Base atop Mt. Ummunhum in 2007. This part of the complex has been erased without a trace and is now a park. It's another, different stab at this that's never been online before. full moon for 3:20, while my friend Joe was throwing light inside the gym for his own pictures.
The model is 20 cm high (22 cm with the alien) and some elements like the pose and the weapon over the shoulder are inspired by the Predator character of the homonymous saga.
The way out to deep water is clearly marked but last winter's ice still covers much of the Great Lakes. The two ships currently in harbor will be here for a while yet.
Nikon Zf
Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Prominent (1950s)
Nikon's deep tone monochrome might not be the most accurate rendering, but the results are usually pretty stunning. It’s like putting a red or orange filter on your lens when shooting with a contrasty film stock such as Kodak Tri-X. Blue skies are darkened, while skin tones are brightened. Great for portraits and landscape alike.
I sometimes find 365's a little odd in that I will take hundreds of photos each month and only upload a very small selection of them. So I have decided to take a look back at some of the earlier months and upload a few additional shots I took along the way.

Grande tristezza
Great sadness for the death of a friend of mine
Well, Florida is being hit with a cold front that just won't leave. They say it is the coldest for the longest in over 10 years. We former NorthEasterners are kinda liking it...but it is cold. I am sure I will not get much sympathy from my cold weather family and friends...heheehehe.
Thanks everyone for your comments and support from yesterday. Like many of you, I too believe it is the person way more than the camera. I was just trying to share that with the newer equipment, there is a risk...and always a learning curve...and perhaps I had underestimated the whole learning curve thing.
It's been raining straight for about a week now. After a long exhausting day, nothing could have topped it off better than a long relaxing bath. With rain splashing down through the window, yesterday night was spent listening to music and turning myself into a human prune... and my camera survived it to tell the tale too!
This is a reprocessed image of the Christmas Tree Cluster posted earlier. I love the rich detail, striking color, and interesting abstract shapes and form of this vast star-forming region.
The Christmas Tree Cluster (NGC2264) is located in the constellation Monoceros, approximately 2300 light-years away from Earth. In this image, the Cone Nebula is situated above the star cluster. The Fox Nebula is the bluish area, while the Snowflake Cluster lies between the Cone Nebula and Fox Nebula sections of the entire Christmas Tree Cluster.
Anyone cold yet?
I was.
I also was totally baffled on about the speed of the fog this day. Behing this tree line, there's a huge river, with a lot of bends and here and there there's islands. The forest are dense here and there, and so the fog has somewhere to linger. But this day the weather unsurprisingly warmed up and so it was a few days where it ended up being really cold and really mild. The mist and the fog was speeding through the terrain.
But, still, it was humid enough and cold enough, long enough, that everything froze. So I managed to capture this piece.
What do you feel when you take a good look at this? Where would you think it fits? as a computer wallpaper or a calendar piece?

"It's the dark of night and I'm at the end of the line
Alone in my head and waiting for something divine
to answer me
Drowning to silence the internal violence, I pray
to make it through
The stormwinds are growing as my dreams are blowing away"
