The formal dedication ceremony of the new William F. Halloran School No. 22 building on November 2, 2017 marks the latest exceptional achievement in the storied legacy of School No. 22. New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak and Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, as well as members of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA), construction manager Epic Management, Inc., general contractor Torcon, Inc., and Elizabeth City Council, joined the Elizabeth Board of Education, central administration, and the School No. 22 family in formally opening the new school.

Superintendent Olga Hugelmeyer and Elizabeth Board of Education President Stanley Neron addressed the audience, praising the School No. 22 community for continually being recognized at the state and national level, including three times as a National Blue Ribbon School and once as a National Title 1 Distinguished School. New Jersey Schools Development Authority CEO Charles B. McKenna delivered the keynote address, highlighting the work of the SDA throughout the state and its longstanding support and partnership with Elizabeth Public Schools.

The dedication ceremony was almost 66 years to the day when the original school building, named after late Elizabeth educator and administrator William F. Halloran, opened in 1951.
