Yah, 4 people on 4 computers...real interaction there!

Day 1 of "1 photo a day for 43 days" goal

Quarantine means decluttering. Most of my lipsticks collected over 20 plus years. Some were so old they smelled bad and hardened. Threw out all the unusables. Reduced by 25%!

Don't like the awkward lines in the background though I couldn't be arsed moving myself so can deal with that. Main lesson here: declutter the table first! It looks crap!

this is what i've been doing for the past week.

blogged here.

Prospective color scheme:

Blue, yellow, soft pink and wood accents

To do:

*Declutter

*Set up sewing machine & crafting area

*Make new yellow curtains

*Make yellow pillows or make a cover the green one in yellow fabric.

*Bring plant back to life/repot (ha!)

*Hang mirror and art

*Buy a rug? [not sure since I will be crafting in this area and it can get messy}

*Bar stools

*Fabric on the short wall under the bar

Here is the result of my de-cluttering - the boxes/stack on corner were gone within a few days.

These are now wrapped and in a box for charity. If my kids want any of them, they should speak now or forever hold their peace...

It's the 24th day of my 30 Day Challenge, and I spent a few hours Dealing with the futon space in my library/guest room. For months now it's been in "bed" mode, overflowing with pillows, blankets, throw pillows, and even more pillows. And the storage bin underneath was a black hole of the unknown. Today I took it all apart, Donated most of the pillows, a lot of the blankets, some pillowcases, and the three (yes, 3!!!) shower curtains hiding underneath. Then I put 2 winter blankets in a blanket bag, added 1 medium weight fleece to the box, and flipped the futon into couch mode. Topped with just a few pillows and a couple throw blankets, it no longer overpowers the entire room.

'Breath' was a problem for our home. It was very liberating to move all of this stuff on, hopefully to someone who actually needs it. The place looks so much better now!

hora de parar de enrolar e reduzir a 100 cds. têm uns 120 aqui, acho eu.

This drawer left of the stove collects labels for school, coupons for the store, miscellaneous junk, etc. And it had a few recipes in it.

found the counters in the craft room...

Too many coats or not enough room?

Easy to decide to declutter this because we no longer have anything to play it on. Having enjoyed it on the radio, I took the trouble to apply for a free tape cassette from Radio Times, which had a few to hand out. I was so pleased when I received one of them!

this is the tchochke (forgive the spelling) shelf, all dusted and re-arranged and put back together. the books on the bottom shelf have yet to find a home, so this is a temporary spot for them

I love this photo. It's of my mother, when she was 16 years old (I think). Bright red hair and turquoise earrings. She's so beautiful in this picture. She has always been the one person who inspires me the most and I like to think that even though she lives so far away that with this photo she somehow can be there with me when I create.

this is the main challenge of the declutter. the crap from the attic. i could cry, honestly.

the cardboard triangle is mr c's guitar. that he was planning to learn to play. about 15 years ago...

still, once we've cleared all this stuff from the spare room, we might actually be able to put some furniture in it. only been here six years!

Today's 30 Day Challenge was the so-called "scary closet" in my guest room/library. It was stuff to the point of literally overflowing into the room, so I spent a good portion of the day emptying it all out, sorting through EVERYTHING that was in there, and putting back only what I needed to keep. In fact, I did such a good job sorting, Dumping, and Donating, that I ended up with 1 less plastic tub, and 3 (!!!) empty canvas storage bins! And as a reward, I’m going to stop by Home Depot and pick up a few more of the nice canvas bins to replace the not-so-nice ones, so that they all match.

My son and I started a DeClutter Challenge for 2018. A different mission each day. We are putting all of our energy into decluttering.

I like having my serving bowls here as this cabinet is next to the stove. Convenient. The papers on the door are often-used recipes.

Everywhere in DC seems to be in bloom. but it was in the least colorful part of Audobon Nature Sanctuary at Woodend that I found the most compelling image of the day in the contrast between the bare branches and white blossoms. Lamentably, I couldn't find a way to declutter the composition in the field, though I did try to convey a sense of comparative emphasis through saturation and contrast adjustments in post.

Continuing on from yesterday's work, on the 22nd day of my 30 Day project I cleaned out some Drawers in my clothes Dressers. A bunch of random bits of stuff that don't belong in a Dresser got Donated, along with a few sweatshirts I haven't worn in years. This is all that's left of my sweater and sweatshirt Drawer (plus some hoodies in the coat closet.) Making good progress towards getting rid of a Dresser (or two!)
