I removed everything from my desk. With the Hackintosh, I want to start anew.

There are so many cables - I didn't even know I had these! My desk from now on will be clutter free.

“Spring cleaning” was a tiny bit of a unique beast in 2020. It was not about lightening up your life and acquiring all set for spring and summer time it was just a thing to do in the chaos that was quarantine. You probably cleaned and purged each individual single detail in your home—what else could we possibly clear in 2021?!

I despise to split it to you, but that very first bout of quarantine was… a yr in the past. We have all accumulated a sweatpants selection our former selves would gawk at, 1-far too-many TikTok tips, and a load of new hobbies. To say that our residences are as pristine as they have been in April 2020 would be a huge overstatement. But you don’t have to go all-in on a 7 days-extended purge yet again this 12 months. Rather, decide for a person room in your residence that you can truly dive deep in to clear, declutter, and manage every weekend. Wanting to know in which to start? In accordance to your Zodiac indicator, here’s what wants the most perform:

Camera Roll

You just can't be expecting an Aries to not be the just one snapping films and pics just about everywhere you go they adore to keep on to memories, primarily with the enjoyable-crammed life they tend to guide. Insert in the hundreds of worthless screenshots they do not even don't forget preserving, the memes they despatched to their pals, and the aged shots they share any time the matter of “cute toddler pictures” will come up, and an Aries camera roll is a wild place to be.

12/365 Saturday 12 January 2013 - A trip to the supermarket first thing, followed by delivering the parish magazines. Then home to declutter a kitchen cupboard and another desk drawer. The day hasn't felt as productive as it was. I finished 'Never Go Back' by Robert Goddard and made watercress soup for supper. It was too thick and bland. It never seems to turn out the same way twice. It was the first time using the blender I got for Christmas. It was better than using the stick blender as that sprays food everywhere.

So, because a 365 Photo project isn’t enough to deal with right now, I’m going to try a 30-Day “D” Challenge: Dump it, Donate it, or Deal with it. Which means that every day, I “Dump” something that should have been thrown away, “Donate” something I no longer need/want/use, or “Deal” with something that’s been sitting around unfinished (am I the only one who's had that LAST under cabinet light in a kitchen drawer for months?)

Starting off easy, today’s “Donate” is the pair of shoes I wore today; they’re not that comfortable, they don’t fit very well, and I don’t really like them, so why are they still on my shoe rack? Well, they’re not anymore. Into the Donate box they go!

(and yes, poor quality iPhone photos are TOTALLY allowed for this project!)

My inner minimalist thinks it's time to de-clutter my shed . . . 2012 will be my year of letting go . . . of understanding that more that can be found in less . . . of waking up . . . of realising just how good life can be . . . and of cultivating the path towards an authentic way of being.

It's day 18 of my 30 Day "D" challenge, and today's project was to Declutter (yes, I'm adding "D's" as I go) the cabinet under my bathroom sink. It's a huge double-door cabinet with very little to get in the way of things, so I'd crammed it with multiple storage bins packed with all kinds of random bathroom-related items. Today I emptied it all out, Dumped or Donated all of the things I don't need, and kept just 3 small bins of lotions, potions, and necessities. Now I can actually find what's under there, my travel kit fits nicely, I can get to the spare Kleenex. . . it's actually a rather happy space.

I bought this canister at Target yesterday. It's part of the Liberty of London collection. It was the only one like it, and I had to have it. I'm planning to use it in my sewing room to store some sewing items in it, so I can declutter my work space a little bit. Plus I have enough canisters in my kitchen, and the colors work so well in my sewing room.

Yesterday we had amazing 65+ weather here in Chicago. Today I woke up to sleet and snow and cold temperatures. My husband is supposed to run the Shamrock Shuffle 8k tomorrow, which just figures we get hit with this weather this weekend. Same thing happened last year, only last year there was a lot more snow and he ended up not running. I think he's still planning on running tomorrow. We'll have to see how the day looks in the morning, I guess.

This weekend I am starting a Permaculture Design Course at RISC in Reading. In preparation I have been sorting my permaculture, gardening and identification guides/books into some sort of order. A few seem to have gone missing (Patrick Whitefield's "Permaculture in a Nutshell" for example) but I'm sure they'll turn up as we do our New Year general declutter and clearout.

Today, declutter one small closet, junk drawer, or pantry shelf

Start small. Add one shelf, drawer or closet each week, and soon your life will feel lighter and brighter.

Emme Rogers needs an intervention! Too much clutter!

Cotton-PUL outer. Slightly wash faded, otherwise in good condition.

This must be the favourite position of 21st-century tourists. When we travel, we photograph or video with abandon - everything and anything. On package tours, it's usually the guide who tells the group to get off the coach, and in a few allocated minutes get a picture of a famous landmark or building. And like trained pets, all the tourists flock out to click away. If I can help it, I avoid package tours like the plague...

Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to collect all the pictures of one popular spot, taken in the course of one day? Millions of travellers posing at slightly different positions and angles. Maybe somebody has already compiled a project that like. How many of us ever look at our accumulated digital travel pictures more than once - possibly a few times, to show (and bore to death!) family and friends on return? And yet, it's so easy, and practically free - why wouldn't we do it? It's quite a job to ruthlessly discard and edit your pictures, and keep your files organized. For me, net publishing helps tremendously to declutter my digital photos. It would also be interesting to see how long digital photos can be preserved. I have already read speculations that, where old prints fade and discolour, digital photos are likely to just unpixelate at some point.

Inspired by Andy's example, I decided to clean up my computer tonight, make a full backup, and declutter my desktop while I was at it.

I try to declutter everything else but my photos around my desk have to stay

One of my goals this week was to organize my messy trunk. It had become the catch-all for all sort of random things.

333/365 Friday 29 November 2013 - I started a major craft/sewing clean out/declutter. I came across these vintage buttons a cousin sent me years ago. So pretty.

On the advice of her shrink, 22-year-old Londoner Georgia Horrocks is trying to declutter her mind by selling her imaginary friend on eBay! “I have recently come to the decision that it is time to sell my imaginary friend Bernard who was created during a time of emotional instability,” Georgia wrote in the eBay listing.
