The narrow passage of Deception Pass has some very fast moving water, lots of logs are pushed in and out.

Middle Deception Falls, just about 8 miles west of Stephen's Pass on Highway 2. Really nice relaxing loop hike in the shade right next to falls and lower Tye River. Bunch of little spots just begging for long exposure shots.

We planned to start off with a short loop hike near Deception Falls. However, the trail was closed due to flood damage. The only portion that was open was a very short walk to the waterfall under US Route 2. We stopped there briefly before heading to our second hike, Heybrook Lookout.
