My wife's mother made this ornament in 1967, and it, along with many other ornaments she made, has been hanging on our Christmas tree every year since.

The leave fall season is nearly over and unlike 2018 I have yet to photograph the local railhead treatment train. Maybe this is due to the change of traction this year from a pair of Colas Class56 to a pair of DB Class 66 or the lack of decent weather. However today the 4th December 2019 is nice and bright and with a couple of hours spare I decided to give it a go. With DB 66111 leading the East Midlands RHTT (3J87) passes over the M1 motorway at Trowell, On a typical day 3J87 departs Toton at around 05:00 and visits Crewe, Nottingham, Mansfield, Worksop, Nottingham, Lincoln, Market Rasen, Nottingham and returns to Toton around 16:30 after a journey of 320 miles.
