Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta in Bagni di Romagna
Believed to date to the year 860 and is constructed in Romanesque style. For centuries, this church was the religious, cultural and social center of the entire area surrounding Bagno di Romagna, with Benedictine monks even constructing a monastery adjacent to the church. The church has been renovated numerous times. Today, it is composed of one nave, with seven chapels on each side and nine altars.
The famous bell tower, which measures 39 meters in height, was constructed in three distinct phases and was most likely part of a castle’s defensive system during the Middle Ages. The baptismal font dates to the year 1000, while there is an impressive terracotta statue of Sant’Agnese that dates to the 15th century. . The most precious work of art, to the local population, is probably the wooden life-sized crucifix that dates to the 15th century.

The Getty Center is an art museum located about 15 miles (24 km) west of downtown Los Angeles, California. It houses Western European art dating from 1300 to 1900. Items from before 400 AD are housed in a companion museum, the Getty Villa, elsewhere in Los Angeles. I returned to the Getty Center on June 21, 2015, because there was much I had not seen during my visit of the previous day.

The date stone on the Old Lock Up on Torr Street in Gainsborough
The Lock up was built in 1843 and was the first Police Station in the town. It was constructed 16 years before the establishment of the Lincolnshire Constabulary. The building is due to be demolished as Mc Donald’s are constructing a restaurant on the former site of Elite Signs, Elite Workwear, the Garage and Gainsborough Fuels coal yard.

A hillside earth god shrine in Li Po Lung Path, Kennedy Town. Largely destroyed by torrential rain in June 1966, the shrine might trace its origin to the 1894 plague as with the altar at Sheung Fung Lane. Between the 1940s and the 1960s, there were regular celebrations held annually in the nearby Hau Wo Street where puppet shows were staged and sacrifice offered.
