The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.
The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.
The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.
The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.
What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.
A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.
This album represents the result of their work to date.

Noticed this disheveled guy with puke on his pants standing outside a cafe stalking a Chinese girl sitting inside. The girl was sitting with a guy both reading books, but the stalker was only interested in the girl. The couple focused intently on their reading hoping the stalker would just give up, but to no avail.... this was no ordinary stare down.
The couple gave up, and left; i didn't take notice if they simply moved to another table, or exited the cafe as i lost interest at that point.... but what the heck, i came back a min later to see if there was more...
The staff inside noticed the guy standing in the window, but didn't want to get involved. The other customers in the cafe didn't seem to notice, nobody on the streets seemed to care.
i had this barbie i liked her i also believe she had molded on shoes i remember me and my mom were at cvs and she did not even have to get me a barbie but i asked her and she said yes i was happy it was between her a barbie with two ponytails but for some reason i could not get the ponytail one and ended up with this one i was so mean to my mom over that and i don't even know why but i still got a doll out of it lol

This Ringtailed Lemur sat and waited for her handler to bring dinner. She was rewarded by being hand fed with some of her favorite fruits.

In 2017, Tactical Tech and artist Joana Moll paid 136 euros to acquire a million online dating profiles from USDate, a company allegedly based in the US that sells dating profiles from all over the world. The collection they bought contained almost five million photos, names, email addresses, and data on nationality, sex, and age, as well as detailed personal information about each person who set up a profile, such as sexual orientation, interests, profession, physical characteristics, and personality traits. The purchase of these data uncovered a huge network of companies that exploits the data of users without their informed agreement and capitalizes on them.
