Wizard Cover #135 Daredevil and Elektra Just before the DAREDEVIL movie was to be released, Wizard asked me to do a painting of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner as everybody's favorite super hero couple, Daredevil and Elektra. This was a real treat because I had recently been informed that my original painting of Elektra in a black leather outfit was the inspiration for Mrs. Garner's costume in the movie! The deadline was harsh, but somehow I was able to find the time this illustration would need--sleep is highly overrated anyway.

This massive landslide area, directly across the road from the entrance to arches, is being used as an epic tobogganing/sledding ride by a bunch of kids and their parents. I counted 14 of them on the slide, plus 6 more on the ground.
The two long tracks from upper right to lower center (left side/full image) were made by the two kids nearing the bottom of the hill, who apparently rolled all the way down.
Someone stomped out the word "cop" (?) and a heart on the upper left side.
The right side is an insert enlargement (of another frame) of the "launch pad". I totally lucked out in capturing one of them in the moment he flung himself into space.
This is Evan. He's my buddy icon's little brother. He's a risk taker ... has been since before he could walk. I think he's found a new outlet for it: zip-lining!
I had to work 4 Sunday's to get it, but I wanted this since I was 13 years old. Welcome home Daredevil #1!
these kids use this homemade skateboard, made from used bearings and used plank of woods nailed together, to glide down a steep road together with busy traffic. to slow down or stop their board they use the friction of their slippers on the road. a couple of days ago a skateboarder was killed when he got run over by a container truck along a busy road in manila. little daredevils!
We are going into the Way-Back Machine here. 2005 to be more precise. Toy Biz was the company, and big articulation was their game. They focused on giving us good figures with lots of articulation, and some extra paint. Most of the time what they gave us was brilliant. They had some things to work through along the way, like the ball jointed hips that really stood out as strange and weird. That is when function won over form, and hurt the overall look.
They also went with super articulation in the hands and gave us articulated fingers. Now, for grasping, that was quite fantastic. Making a fist is a lot harder with straight fingers. You get guys who look like they have never thrown a punch before.
Bullseye came across my radar, and since I wasn't really collecting Marvel Legends at the time, except for getting all of the parts to the most awesome BAF of all time, the Sentinel. I figured with a couple of great Daredevils that came out at the end of last year, it would be good to have a Bullseye for him to fight.
Overall I like this guy. He is well artuculated as he should be. He has great paint apps that help to tone down the white. I really like all of the pockets and pouches he has all over the place. It adds a lot to the outfit.
I don't know how many parts of Galactus I am going to end up collecting for this one. The prices for this very first BAF series is up there pretty high.
I was the only one to at Bullseye's funeral. No one knows his full name so on the grave it just says Lester Doe. We may have been arch-enemies, but I feel bad for what happened to him. It's my fault. I'm the one who made him help me, and I'm the one he died saving. I know what happened. He got his brains splattered across a brick wall. Stark came over to help me get rid of the body. He cremated it and sent it to S.H.I.E.L.D. Even with all that it still doesn't seem like he's dead. There's no possible way he's alive, but I feel like one night Bullseye is going to start trouble in New York again, and I'll have to stop him. That will never happen though. At his funeral I swore I would find who did this and make them pay.
Next: Our hero comes face to face with the assassin that killed Bullseye!
His 'horns' are sculpted from milliput, the belt and 'holster' is made from funky foam and his baton/nunchucks are made from the pin wheel accessory from the mini munnys, cut in half and leather cord attached.
It was a birthday gift for a friend who is a big DD fan.
Also got a Captain America in the works :p

I would also like to thank Eero Okkonen for inspiration in creating a head for this model. He wouldn't be the same without it!
Hope you like the model!

Daredevil's cowl started as a 3D file of a minifig head and the Lego Ant-Man Helmet. I then chopped off the sides and bottom of the cowl, then added the horns. However, the horns were too small, so one of them broke (I am going to print a new one with new horns). I then painted the helmet in red, a dark red stripe along the sides and the eyes in dark red, and a poorly painted face (the other reason I want to reprint it). I also added some etape around his wrists, and made a new staff.
