Went to the Taste of the Danforth (a Greek Festival in Toronto) and look what I saw. A busy street

"You haven't seen The Breakfast Club?"

The man in the window of Alexandro's looked like Bender from TBC. Except it wasn't a man. Oops. Sorry, physically ambiguous woman.

From colourful digital to grainy film, this is expired Agfa 1000rs. Nicknamed "The Mother Of All Grain", the last batch of this was made back in '97. Shot with the XA, I x-pro'd this roll at shoppers after being frozen for almost 10 years.

National Train Day 2016 event at Danforth today. Equipment from NS, BNSF, UP, Amtrak, Hotrak and others. The only way to get here is on a special Amtrak train that has a Amtrak heritage unit 156 and Be Track Smart unit 157 running push pull service.

I like the way the windows of the Leunigs building look at night but usually most of them get turned off around 5:00pm so you don't see many of them lit. I decided that my best bet would be near the winter solstice when the sun set well before closing time. I staked out a spot across Church Street at 4:15 and waited for it to get dark and waited and waited and waited. I think I freaked out a few people but I got the shot I wanted at 4:55. Although I usually think of Christmas on Church Street in black and white, this shot works better in color.

It can be difficult to chase trains on the IC that are making track speed, but I had no problem getting ahead of this under-powered one unit wonder.

Neighborhood rebranding at Woodbine and Danforth. Shiny new banners are popping up all around the city. The stretch of Danforth between Jones and Westlake is included under this particular umbrella.
